Had a past partner show me this artist after my grandfather passed away few years ago. That new found love for Cass McCombs music has been with me ever since. This song especially gives me so much comfort with a hint of bittersweet sadness for loved ones. If you’re reading this or going through a difficult time, I know it hasn’t been easy but You should be proud of yourself for how far you’ve come on your path! Trust the wait, embrace the uncertainty, and enjoy the beauty of becoming! YOU GOT THIS. Sending love and light to those who read this 💜
The Lord said: I have passed through many births, and many have you. I know them all, but you do not. Unborn am I, Changeless is my Self, Of all contingent beings I am the Lord! Yet by my creative energy, I consort with Nature, And come to be in time. For whenever the law of righteousness Withers away and lawlessness arises, Then I do generate myself on Earth. I come into being, age after age, And take a visible shape And move a man with men For the protection of good, Thrusting the evil back: And setting virtue on her seat again.
This song is absolutely beautiful, meditative. The San Francisco opera production of "Satyagraha" did this with a mise en scene with everyone in white saris and costumes in blindingly bright light. Everyone on stage slowly took steps forward for the duration of the song. It was magical. I too couldn't move, I was so overtaken by the experience.
This is so hypnotic and wonderful. Got introduced to it by the wonderful organist Jonathan Scott at his lunchtime concerts at the Bridgewater. Absolutely love this piece
I used to listen to this band back in highschool and I never really got this song or cared for it, now after working several dead end jobs and getting nowhere in life this is my favorite song off the album.
I had this song on a dinky little ipod nano, and it was really special to me. I'd listened to it secretly on primary school camping trips to get to sleep. When I lost the ipod, because i hadn't named the song, it was years before i found it again even though i'd never forgotten a single lyric. I'm 22 now. Found this video by pure chance... tysm for uploading <3
