Many thanks for an excellent review. After watching several RU-vid reviews regarding the mechanics I thought the manufacture used an overly complication system with cheap plastic parts. Thanks for confirming this, nobody else has, we'll stay with the Natures Head we've used for 12 years. We've subscribed, don't quit these great reviews that are contrary to the multitude of BS Separett RU-vid reviews on those ridiculous channels that have thousands of views while not actually examining a product. I wish you all luck but I don't think that was a good idea. That whole chassis was twisted and there's no telling how much hidden damage there is. Best of luck but be safe!!
How terrible what happened to you! Were you sleeping there when the accident occurred? Why did you injure your knees like that? Were you lying in bed at the time of the impact? Wasn't your head on that side? So, did your insurance pay for the van? What insurance coverage did you have for a converted van-home?
Yes and yes. I got bounced off the back doors best we could tell. Somehow my knees took the impact. Better than my face though which was about 2' above where she hit. And no my insurance covered about 60%... Trying to get some me from hers but as mentioned, it's a pathetic policy. 🙄
Hey, are you still using it? I have one in box, bought it six months ago and going to install but I only turned it on for a moment and the fan was loud. Do you have the same problem? Does the toilet actually work and what about the smells?
My van was totaled in an accident but I used mine for 7 mos. Other than the issues I mentioned in the video, it did the job. Fan was quiet. Van does get a little smelly
The first batch of these toilets had an issue with the trapdoor sticking and were sold on amazon at a discount i bought one and just loosened the pivot screw one turn has worked flawless since if it smells the vent isnt working or is disconnected mine has no smell at all to put the lid down just push in on the grey plastic above the roller this releases the lid. I do not use a urine tank as its in a cabin i just plumbed it to a soaking drain.
Those wire racks look exactly the same style as ones that I have in my kitchen (I think I bought them from TJ Maxx some years ago??) That's pretty great that you were able to find some of that size and make them work with your setup (I'm assuming you adapted them to fit on the sliders). They look like they worked out very well!
I'm curious about those mounts for the telescoping ladder. In the video on Nate Murphy's channel, you mentioned finding them on Amazon, but I'm striking out there. Any insight on good search terms to use? Thanks!
Great videos Scott. I also have a 1994 Ford E350 Im converting. I used to ride bikes with Gary Head ...I live 4 doors from Nick .. keep up the vids . !
@@peaceoutvanlife Nicholas Karen..he lives on Oxford pl here in st Matthews him and Joe Adams ran the dirt's bikes a lot...I'm on cornell pl. He is sort of across the alley behind me...has the big box truck and suburban
I really love this build and appreciate the thought and work that has gone into every detail. I especially liked your slide show as it really showcased all the steps you went with in the build and helped me understand much better the stages for my own build. 👍
Thx Vicky, I felt like a slouch for not doing a time lapse video at least but I didn't want to follow down the process. Glad you found it helpful! Good luck and safe travels
In what regard? Fits like a glove and didn't impede on sleeping space. Plus I saved a TON of room in the garage. Only downside is looking through spokes when looking out the back window, but that's only if the bike is mounted.
Hey guys! I know you ran the MABDR a while ago BUT I just wanted to say really nice camera work and loving to hear the engines and the other sounds we hear. Music is good too on vids, but loved to hear just what you did. I hear you on the rain, depending how heavy the weather is it sure changes the route. I live near South Mountain and during that time we had some rains that took out several bridges on some other roads/trails that have been for a lot of years but were absolutely washed out. Again, thank you for the post! Craig Palen (MA)BDR Ambassador
I have to get myself to one of these! Next fall?!? I have the event postcard pinned up in my garage from something I ordered and wanted so badly to make it. Wife, 3 kids, dog, cat, mortgage later.. Regrettably, it was not to be!
Brother, believe me that's tempting. But she would be more upset if I didn't bring her with lol. She's been a hot biker chick longer than I've known her. Honestly comes down to finances as everything does. Looks like you throw one hell of a shindig. Just to go home cross the Mason Dixon is excuse enough for me. Rebels need not come to New York! Love and appreciation -Mickey the Duke
We were on it for 6 days I believe and didnt finish the last leg due to rain. Used the standard MABDR route but Doug Devine had a file with 3 tracks depending on your experience level I could see some people wanting some more technical sections
We had right at a week to do it. Doug had GPS Kevins maps which had 3 dif levels of routes. I would recommend tracking them down in case you want some technical stuff.
You folks were looking at Elk on your way into Jasper. Been riding your route for years. Small towns have been hit hard by the economic downturn over the last ten years or so. Some of the finest riding you'll find anywhere. Thanks guys for the video. Happy trails. Canadian Rider out.
