Sorry, got a question. 1) Most sources I could find in web are telling to use hard-soled shoe. Some even say that if you can bend it with hands, then it's garbage. While the ones that you are reviewing don't have such a hard sole. So if fact it's not actually required? I've already have some probably suitable shoes from Skechers, like Escape Plan Hiking trail and another model very similar to the ones you reviewed, but their soles definitely not very hard. So can I use those or should I invest in buying some sort of trail/hike boots with hard soles? I have a base 5th metatarsal fracture, if that matters. 2) Also should the insoles be flat or is it okay/better to use the ones with arch support. I also have a slippers with good arch support, but don't know if you use those could it cause some displacement? I'm just transitioning from aircast walk boot and it feels a bit strange walking in normal shoes. Thank you!
I tried the Culumus at the store and found it very comfortable like walking on clouds however i have a bad experience with Ultraboost 2.0 due to how soft the boost is, walking all day 15k steps made my feet very sore. I read that too soft a cushioning will eventually make your feet sole tire out after all day walking due to the energy it requires. Question is if I should get the Gt2000 due to the firmer sole although not as cloudy comfy feeling as I'm worried the Cumulus might be too soft giving me similar experience with the Ultraboost.
Is it normal after walking for long distances , or should i see a doctor(my family has history of athritis ie parents).. Sometimes i worry it may have been inherited , my legs ache from time to time (25yrs)
Hola, soy de Chile y me ha parecido excelente la información. Es muy clara y útil, pues esta guía de marcas y modelos específicos me ayudará a aliviar los malestares en mis pies. Muchas gracias James.
Which shoe would you recommend for my son with over pronation due to hypotonia and developmental delay? He cannot toe shoe laces due to his intellectual disability.
Hi. I had a significant knee injury 20 years ago (complete rupture of the patella tendon) and I had knee pain issues up until i went for an almost "barefoot" shoe several years after the fact. Within a couple of months my knee pain was 95% gone. I had a scan done a few years back and I have the start of arthritis. Now, as became a senior, I have ankle and foot pain. Can both issues be addressed together? What shoe might for a wide foot?
Hi, I had a calcaneal fracture, which required surgery many years ago, I've found its getting stiffer and more painful during and after exercise. What kind of brace would you recommend for exercise given my injury? Thanks.
I have Morton’s toe which can be VERY painful if the shoes aren’t perfect. This condition is so severe, surgery has been advised. Which would you recommend?
Hi. I'm looking for a shoe that takes orthotics well. I need a 2e wide size and roomy toebox , as i have a arthritic bunion, and i need a firm forefoot with little flex. I had the brooks Dyad 11 for years, but the shoe is discontinued. That shoe was great for orthotics.
I had a knock knee surgery in past after which i feel minor discomfort in my knee sometimes when i apply excessive force ...... So could you please suggest me a good daily wear comfort shoe for my case ?
Hey, i just bought a pair of GTS adrenaline 23 but turns out it has very little cushioning for the forefoot. As a forefoot striker, is it going to cause long term problems and should i change the way i run to heel striking? Edit: the shoe i used prior to the gts is the gel nimbus 25 so im facing a night and day difference in cushioning.
I got the brooks today. Took a short walk (less than a mile) and now my other leg is hurting and both ankles instead of insertional pain I have pain higher up in the more traditional Achilles tendinitis location. Which I’ve never really had before. And my “good leg” aka the one that was ok before calf is now painful. I’ve never had a pair of shoes cause this sort of thing this fast. I maybe walked 2/3 of a mile. And not super fast as I have my old dog with me. Did I just pick the wrong shoes for me? I play soccer so this is where the ankle issue started. I normally wear ASICS around and they were ok even though I still had insertional pain w it - this is worse. Advice? 😊
not sure. But I returned them and got a pair of mizuno instead at a running store and no more issues at all. I think it’s the high back heel on the brooks that was my issue. Mizuno also has larger heel drop. So far so good.
When I flex the right knee on the flexor machine or using elastics, more or less at 2/6 upwards and 1/6 downwards, I hear/feel a crack and pain in the semitendinous/semimembranous (or under them? 🤔), on the lower part where I can touch it. If I extend the foot and do the same movement, I dont feel the crack. But between both and the calf muscle, there is always a tensioned pain.. and when I stretched it completely, I feel a "dumbness" on it. On cycling it hurts in the backwards portion on the movement. On the left leg, i feel it only squeaking, but no pain or cracking.. I did already a MRI on these regions, but they focused on the knee itself and not on the lower hamstring 🙄 they said the knee is ok. Would u have any hint for my case? 😥
Hi I wear uk12.5 for new balance 1080, and uk13 for asics both of them are super comfortable however I feel NB has better room for me. Which shoes should I go for in HOKA bondi or clifton? What size should I buy? In my previous two both were 31cm and should I go for wide or regular fit? Thanks
the picture for this video is a useful diagram of where it might hurt, but the diagram is nowhere to be found in the vide so I can't identify the relevant area :(
Hi! Your video on PTTD insoles really helped me earlier this year. Those insoles combined with PT got me back to running. Thank you for making these videos. I’m looking for some new shoes as mine are getting less supportive. I’m looking at the Hoka Gaviota, and the new Brooks Ghost Max. Any thoughts on which is best for preventing PTTD?
I had 5th metatarsal jones fracture. What slippers/sandals can I wear at home? Which is better oofos ooah slide sandal or hoka ora? I also have flat feet. Thanks
Hello I read that ASICS novablast 4 has been rated as overall best show for shin splints . What is your opinion ? Can I buy them if available here in UAE ?
I did like the look of the New Balance but then looked at the price and nearly spilled my coffee all over my laptop! Holy Macaroni - it's a shoe not a smartphone!
I have wide foot.Iwear a 7.5 extra wide shoe because l need a little more room to walk due Loosing 50% of my balance on my right side because l had brain surgery on my r side of my brain. They had to cut some of nerve that effect my balance.

Hello! Super helpful video. I’m currently recovering from perineal tendonitis on my right foot, but ruptured my achilles on my left three years ago. I’ve warn nearly exclusively hoka bondis, recovery slides, transports or kahas. I want to get something new to help with the perineal issue and still support the achilles. I know you recommend arahi for achilles and clifton for perineal. What would you recommend for my situation? I also was considering the bondi sr’s. I need a good everyday walking shoe that is supportive on concrete. Thanks dor your time!
