I just bought the same (supposedly very rare) snare for € 30,00 but without the snare tension mechanism and wires, so I thought to hear what it sounds like. Unfortunately, since you haven't used a proper microphone and you hit the snare waaaaay lighter than I do - I still have no clue how it actually sounds. But thanks for the effort, man, I really appreciate it, only please, next time try to at least use a Shure SM57 and try hitting the snare a couple of times with different strength so we can hear the difference. In my opinion that helps a lot.
I love the idea. It sucks to have ashes blown all over the car if you smoke. I think that irritates me more than the condensation from a cold drink dripping everywhere. I would like to try and make one could I get some measurements?

"the car can easily roll by a small bump from another car" hahah what? you could slam into a parked car going 65mph, the parked car will stay in park. I guarantee it. Great idea on the cup holder! My Forester has the single cup holder right above the radio. It's super flimsy, blocks all the climate controls, and the condensation on the cup drips down onto my radio. Wish Subaru would've placed it better haha.
hey sounds great but tighten up the head and bottom of it. i just bought a kit and it had a real lose sounding snair i tightened it up all the way and man what a difference. go for that army snair sound on it. its a great snair

My set is Premier Olympic 2010 and the heads were never retuned in 5 years so when i bought the kit used i tuned up the heads and its a great sounding kit

Clearly all you "OMGZ ITS BLOCKING TEH PARKING BRAKE OMGZ" people dont live in the north anywhere. Prolly 80% of cars older than 15 years dont have a working parking brake. I also know approx ZERO people that have ever had to use the parking brake. Ever. For any reason.
The parking brake must be used EVERY time you park your car, doesn't matter if it's automatic or manual. If you don't use the parking brake, it puts a lot of strain on the transmission. Putting it in "P" is not enough and the car can easily roll by a small bump to it from another car even when not on a hill. If a car's parking brake is broken then it won't pass inspection and must be fixed for safety reasons.
Sean Carey Both of my cars are '99s, from the north, with working parking brakes that i regularly use. Not using it can be pretty hard on the transmission and flywheel.
My car is 20 years old and I use the E-brake. Not using it puts strain on the car which can lead to a broken parking pawl. My parking pawl is broken because the previous owner didn't use the E-brake.
"Emergency" brakes will not do you any good if your brakes fail. Ask any mechanic. That's why a better word to describe would be "parking brake." Because that's what the parking brake is for. But if you don't believe me, I suggest you disable your brakes and try using your parking brake instead..... But DO make sure your air bags are up to date. Cheerio!
Why? The parking brake is almost completely unnecessary in an automatic vehicle. There's never an emergency that calls for it. If you're going to park on a steep hill and you want the ever so slight insurance from the e-brake, just pull out your cup holder. No big deal. Although I personally have never found a need to pull the e-brake.
Much better design but not a good idea if it blocks your parking brake. You should always have clear access to that at all times, in case the unexpected happens!
You'd rather have a huge super gulp drink block your Ebrake than have it block your HVAC! In an emergency, which do you go for first? Heater or Ebrake? And those cup holders arnt designed for 7-11 cups! Typical fat ass with his 64oz coke! lol SMH
