To think he was scrapped all because of a collision problem... Like, everything was there, he was ready to come out! But it was the only problem they couldn't solve...
Some of what’s shown isn’t in the MMX version I’ve got. The one that came with my Gateway in January 1997. I wonder if these are scenes from a beta version.
to be honest, it is good they good removed, I think the silence to get surprised by the Colossu's cutscene is way better, because it is very obvious what the arena is.
Worm being Creeping Shadow is a cool concept, as he was standalone, I always pictured him being pretty aggressive or constantly moving towards Wander, so it's interesting to think of the chase having this dystonia of "yeah I'm fine while running away from him but if I do it wrong I'm screwed big time".
Man that shot at 0:20 would have been sick, it was nicely set up to show the actor for a brief second up close before hopping back all in one shot, probably would have felt very immersive if the final product could have happened.
I remember this scene from the novelization of this movie, I actually had the book. I believe this video's description has an excerpt detailing how this sequence would've played out in the film. In fact, the part where Racer X flips another car using his front jump jacks may have inspired the Tail Toss attack from the tie-in video game.
You're right. I wonder if the reason some characters from the videogame are so unknown is because their scene was cut from the final version of the movie. Scooter being the most obvious example.
My choices for Stage Intros: Pholux - Anger (just because it's not a battle theme doesn't mean it wouldn't work as a stage intro to Devil's Plain) Aberth - Marshlands (where else do you think Marshlands was supposed to go?) Kyos - Green Hills (it's called Valley for a reason, isn't it?) Sirius - Green Hills (Stonehedge is located in a plain in Scotland, so why not this?) Avus - Wilderness (what comes to mind when you think of an arena name called Badlands?) Dionin - Wilderness (it's internal track name is "desert" after all and the name of the arena is called Dune, is it not?) Saru - Sanctuary (to be fair, the arena is called Cave and the internal track name is called "cave" so this might not be so out of place) Adar Flam - Voice of the Earth (this one sounds more like it takes place in a cave but the internal track name is called "volcano" so why not?) Shiromori - Sanctuary (yeah, that's what I'm calling Yamori A, and again the internal track name is called "cave" and the arena Sluice is supposed to be inside of one) Evis - Idol Collapse (look, Malus is Buddha, and Evis is it's own colossus, so Idol Collapse would be a good introduction to it's arena which is called Labyrinth)
I jumped into leo's cave without passing the lake, and I always do this. That's what the sword told me. If it kills wanda when he jumps down right above the cave, People may try to find the right way to get there
Watching this & seeing what looks like fur on top of the body, it makes me think how interesting it would have been if the 8th colossus would have had a total of 4 weak spots, & you needed to knock the colossus off a wall not only to get underneath the body & access the 2 weak spots, but also to break a shell that was on top of the body & access 2 more weak spots. This then could have been the only colossus to have total of 4 weak spots. Just a thought. :)
