The industrial pump is a $735 upgrade. Is it worth the cost for home users (not a business)? How does the sound level compare bn the standard and industrial pumps?
Good morning, I haven’t used the standard so unfortunately I could tell you the sound difference. I will say not having to do oil changes as much has been amazing and the all metal pump has been the best one I have used compared to ANY pump from other companies I have tried. I would personally pay the $735 for the upgrade as it should last you a very long time. Be glad they are not trying to charge $1600 for an oil less pump that doesn’t last long. Please let me know if you have any questions at all
You need to do your homework before critiquing. Learn the function and operational particulars of the machine before you discuss test results (and their meanings), vacuum seals, operation, and wiring. The filter inside the machine is filtering the particulates and some moisture that could go to the vacuum pump. Supporting the extended life of the oil and pump! READ THE MANUAL. It's replaceable, easy to source (and cheap). The drain valve does not go to the pump and that barbed connector will work just fine! So much more to point out about your lack of understanding about these machines. Disappointing. Do your viewers a favor and spend some time to read the manual and research your subject(s). Thumbs down on this one.
Glad you like it. I still stand by my review of this machine. Many people are being fooled IMO by the company. They don’t have any standards on what mT you should be down too. At least we know what we should be working toward with HR
I’m trying to run tomatoes and I’m getting temps up to 60 degrees down to -8 for 28 hours now. The ice looks lumpy and more ice than normal. Do I just cancel and put my product back in the freezer? Happy I found you and hope you can help. I have more stuff to FD waiting….Help! FYI I did have to pay 45 bucks a year ago to get help from them. Relay issue
Hello, if it get too much ice it will not work well. Going up and down in temp is normal. However if you feel like it has too much ice and could be close to touching the shelving unit. I would take it out and put in the freezer till you can defrost the machine and run it again.
@@freezedryerrepairsupport yeah this isn’t normal. By this time it should be at least 120 degrees. mTorrs are 645 and 22 degrees after over 31 hours. So just cancel it?
Hello, first off I want to say thank you for the tips and even saying that we can send a picture or ask questions. I live in a very remote area with no professionals that will touch my freeze drier. I did the tests that you suggested, the temperature went to -47 degrees so does that mean that my pump is working properly? I have to go down the line of trouble shooting to find why my machine is not building pressure. Thank you for your support. Sue
We have been trying to contact you. The number is constantly busy. The website wont send the email contact because it is not to format which what does that mean? I also sent an email from my email and have not heard from you. We really would appreciate a way to contact you. Thank you!
@freezedryerrepairsupport nice, thanks for your help. Our package from usps was tore wide open and missing parts. My wife contacted you and thanks for helping get things sorted out.
My husband performed your fixes for my machine that failed after 3 uses. He did them all. It worked! We got hoses made locally. The "company" was no help and I did NOT install their software they said would fix my problems. My machine now worked. Why would I fix something that wasn't broken? Silly. Thank you for being bold and help so many of us?
Thanks for the video. I heard they started selling that same software that fixes vacuum leaks in the auto parts store now. I guess it fixes oil leaks as well. You can find it next to the blinker fluid and muffler bearings. 😂
Extremely Disappointing Product and Support I purchased the Blue Alpine Freeze Dryer (Large) to support my growing business, but after just three weeks, the refrigeration compressor began making knocking and rattling noises before completely failing. I reached out to customer service, and they requested a picture of the wiring, claiming it was incorrectly installed. After following their instructions to fix the issue, I did some additional research and found a schematic online that confirmed the wiring was indeed incorrect from the start. Customer service also informed me that other customers were experiencing the same problem. I tested the capacitors, which were in good condition, but they sent replacements anyway, along with an additional wiring connector. Unfortunately, these efforts did not resolve the issue. In a further attempt to resolve the problem myself, I purchased a new compressor and electric boards directly from their website, spending an additional $700. However, the company refused to send the parts, leaving me unable to fix the machine. Instead, I was contacted by the owner, who instructed me to pack up the unit, find a pallet, and prepare it for pickup, but this solution does not address the critical impact on my business. I currently have over 45 orders unfulfilled, am forced to issue refunds, and am receiving negative reviews for my own business due to the downtime caused by this faulty equipment. I asked for a replacement unit to avoid further disruption, but that request was denied. As a business owner, I understand that issues can arise, but I believe in doing what’s right for the customer. In this case, Blue Alpine has failed to do so, and their lack of urgency in resolving this matter is incredibly disappointing. I strongly encourage potential buyers to be cautious. This experience has cost me not only financially but has also impacted my business’s reputation due to their inability to provide a reliable product or timely support.
Thanks for the comment. Please check out my other videos were I open other freeze dryers. I open all machines. Would love to know what you think I gain from the review I did for Blue Alpine. I lost my affiliate link so I can’t get paid by this company. Making sure people have good knowledge of what machines they are getting are worth more than any money.
Contact the company and they should be able to send them to you. Harvest Right is big at trying to sell you a whole new rack system as they make some good money doing that
Where is the actual thermistor located? I’m getting mid batch freezer error. Traced the issue to the reset button, trays warm up in test mode if it’s held down, but the button arcs/sparks and continuity is inconsistent. Is the thermistor build into the reset button?
I have an xl that’s 1 1/2 years old. It keeps getting stuck in the freeze cycle. It won’t move in. It’s been running for 89 hrs, just freezing. I tried to warm trays and it stays at -7
I bought a Harvest Right. Within 1 year, multiple breakdowns and two trips back to Utah from Maine! It is 15 months old and they tell me they know what is wrong but do not have the part needed to fix it and no ETA and now want to send a scratch and dent special with only a 90 day warranty! Guess I should have a RU-vid channel so I get a new one...lol I am not the only person having difficulties. The FedEx freight man who picked the machine up told me that he has had to return quite a number of them. My crops now have to be canned, dehydrated or conventionally frozen and who knows when I will get this machine back. This was a huge financial commitment for me and all I have is frustration to show for it. I tried my best all along to be understanding- things do break, but this is uncalled for. I love the process- it's fantastic and I have asked them to take a part out of one of their existing units, or send me a new one and recondition mine and sell that.... but that is not their "policy". When I recover financially from this experience, may try StayFresh. I had considered selling some product but I sure am glad I did not try to develop a market and then have nothing to process the product with. Do your research.

I just got mine. Quick question, the top of my door hinge has the screw with what appears to be a cap, but the bottom doesn't. Is yours like that? Thank you.
If I go into functional testing and click on freeze, heat, or vacuum it will turn that item on, but the unit and screen locks up. I can't turn it off or exit. I have to turn the main power off to reset. What's wrong?
That’s a very normal issue with these machines. Many people have closed up the shelving unit however I try not doing that as I don’t know the long term effects of that
@@freezedryerrepairsupport Well that stinks. For what we pay for them, you'd think they'd resolve this issue. I thought about adding more insulation to the bottom of the tray.
Thanks for clicking haha. Some people like this video. If you don’t sorry to hear this. We have many videos to help people get machines running and also what we think are the best machines on the market.
This is something people used to be able to do when they had issues with a vacuum freeze loop. HR took this away from people after we found the fix. We only wanted to do this if we knew people had a good vacuum. It seems like your machine is working ok however so you wouldn’t need this
Thanks for reading the comments. There is not enough evidence to support they have made the upgrades needed to make this a great machine. I have talked with many owners who are not happy with this machine and the vacuum leaks they are still having issues with. Right now Stay Fresh is the best machine on the market IMO
@@freezedryerrepairsupport Hope to see a video of the mega one they have. If a StayFresh machine breaks can a regular like refrigerator type guy fix you think?
LVE THIS CHANNEL. ARE YOU IN UTAH BY CHANCE? ok everyone, I cannot get a responds with the ticket I submitted to HR, ALL I NEED IS THE CANDY MODE software update. I’m curently running software v5.0.16 and on their website it states V5.0.25 version is available for my machine. I downloaded it from there website and it’s not rocket science in terms of uploading it to the HR machine, BUT it won’t update to it. So got a tech guy and yep still won’t update to this latest software. WHAT GIVES???? So submitted ticket but not responds. Anyone have any thoughts .Thanks model HRFD Pmed Bk. Date code is May of 2021
I can’t promote any software from the company however we didn’t see many issues we see now before candy mode so I am not the biggest fan. If your still wanting it HR is the only way as they threaten to sue me for giving out the software that worked for the machines
@@freezedryerrepairsupport yeah indeed I noticed this as well. You see years ago when the first candy mode software came out I installed it but then the machine was all buggy so I was instructed to go back to the 16 but saw the other day there is a 25 now and thought I’d try update but it won’t update using multiple old ancient thumb drives. Will update u later what I figure out hehe I’ll get it going. But gonna do a diffierent……..eventually. Hey thanks and look forward to connecting up more in near future brother.
My freeze dryer is brand new I have only run three batches successfully, the bread run, my first candy run, and then a second candy run. I went to do my first freeze run of ice cream sandwiches and this is when the temp reached -25 and climbed to -50 then shot back down and all over the place. I will be running the function testing when I get home today to see the results. It then poped up a screen that said unable to get an accurate temp reading. Any suggestions
So we should see temps go up and down during the drying process. I would check the wiring to make sure nothing is lose as that’s what could be having it not read
I was experiencing long cycle times also. HR said i was overloading. Had 40 lbs shrimp in my XL, peeled deveined and pre frozen. Took 84 hrs. Then i did 4.5 gal tomato sauce, 92 hrs. I understood this one because it wasn't pre frozen, but the shrimp run shocked me. I have thermometers on each tray stuck in largest piece on each run. The temperature never matches display until the end when heaters are on. Sometimes 40 degrees off. I also installed a high quality vac gauge inline, display vac never matches it either. I have zero vac leaks, it will hold for hrs with pump off. It holds near perfect vacuum at all times. My gauge reads in mT and inHg. So it shows single digit mT when pump is on. But i dont recall display ever getting below 450mT.
Wow, such a biased review. I'm in the market for a machine and considering all vendors at this point, but this review isn't going to sway me one way or the other. Seems like he has an axe to grind, awful..
Test for yourself is all I can tell you. I haven’t seen an update from the company saying the fixed the vacuum issue I had when I did testing from the machine.
Is there an actual review in this? How about batch speed comparison to others? Replacing parts seems to be easy with removable panels, maybe you should go to their site and see actual replacement parts section (none for the other manufacturers). This is probably the worst "review I seen in a ling time.
What is m torr? I have no idea and am brand new to this machine. Why would I want to move my m torr down to zero. How does it affect the freeze drying 😊
The manufacturer is the only place to get parts for the machines such as CPU etc. I sell some upgrade hoses and vacuum leak parts but we are working on more to upgrade the HR machine
@@freezedryerrepairsupport I don't want to make one myself and design everything at the temperature stage. How can I set it to a certain degree so that it does not collapse but becomes sublimated? I installed an external clock to stop the heat and turn it on automatically, but I do not know what degree to set it to.
I just bought a 2018 HR medium FD. When i touch the leaf it takes me To the liquid or non-liquid selection screen. It doesn't take me to a functional test screen. Is that a development since 2018?
It likely was part of an update if your having issues with vacuum on this older machine I would check the o ring that makes the 90 degree turn for the vacuum hose
Xl unit down for refrigeration failure after 10 months of use. Paid extra for the stainless steel (cosmetics). Now they have had it for over a month and cannot provide an estimated completion date, open refusal to provide when asked,, they have said they already have been waiting weeks on parts (not my problem), then they said they could send me a refurb unit with dents and scratches, but iterate that it's functional. I've taken good care of my machine and paid a premium for cosmetics and they act like accepting a unit with undefined damages to it is a fair tradeoff for selling a machine that can't last a year with advertised warranties. I wait till the end of the world for my machine to get fixed, or I accept a potentially lower value unit. Dosent seem like how warranties ought to work.
Here is the side by side review I have of the other machines and you will see inside both of them Harvest Right vs StayFresh Review ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d89Mq_8PgYo.html
If stay fresh was the same price as harvest right i'd be great but it's not. A medium harvest right is about $2750 with the 5% coupon vs a stayfresh at $4000.
Could you point me in the area my issue could be at? I hit the defrost cycle and it starts. I don't know when this happens but then the machine looses all power. No green light or anything. Unplug it for like half an hour and it will power back up and states a previous cycle didn't complete. This is the defrost cycle. I hit it again and again I come back after an hour or so and the machine is powered off. Would this be relay board or is it something else? Could the heater be bad and is causing an over current event? Please help.
@@freezedryerrepairsupport I just figured it out. The outlet for my FD is behind my stacked washer/dryer and I guess it was rubbing against the cord a bit and caused it to short out. When it stopped working and lost power, I measured it on the supply coming to the relay board and found it was 60 volts. I traced it back to the outlet. Once I moved the washer out of the way and then plugged the power cord back in, it came right up. if you have a multimeter, always check power levels coming into the machine. I used a power detection wand and of course it said I had power but not enough to power the machine. Thank you for being willing to help. Your channel is awesome!! .
