Ok Budden mirroring his resentment. I think Lupe is more so understanding that the Whole system is rigged so it was bound to happen. Also because of His Decision on what to rap about. Budden had no choice to make and was more so forgotten and thrown out. With Lupe it's more like he made two classic debuts and what label should do then, give the artist every support he needs, but while making the third album they put every obstacle in front of him. This is my take but because he would not conform into not being so concious about what he writes about, because labels are media companies aka tied to other entertainment and the whole package is tied to bigger things like privatized prison systems and pharma etc. What else it could be that Lasers was a mishmash because the label did everything to make it hard, like why else would they if only someone from Up said that he goes against out intrests. Still there is like The Show Goes On in the album and so on but they most likely discarded so many records as not fitting to the album for him going Hurt Me Soul vain again. The label knows there is Big money to be made with Lupe but won't make him the Kanye if he continues to have morals. So I think he then conciously made a decision to do an album that get's him off of the label aka Tetsuo, since it isn't mainstream enough for Atlantic. Then build his own label. So I think Lupe would have to be resentfull towards the whole world and he doesn't seem at all like that. More so passionatelly chops heads off when he is misrepresented by the side of mainstream, which he is friends with many but not friendsfriends as he says. Like the Royce thing he even says he was sceptical why does Royce want a pod with him when the little contact they have had have been arguments, he was like I'll bite and it was a full-blown trying to character assasinate him (they had to edit some of the lives afterwards for Royce going on and on minimizing him), then Royce's head chopped. There is a reason why Kanye would say in Drink Champs that Lupe is low-key the Most gangster of rappers, don't let the glasses fool you (then not put him over as a rapper to Chance... because Kanye is heavily in the indrusty and Lupe a swearword to them). Budden was discarded and now is again in the mainstream. So he might have Real resentments, but then again he is back in it again. Not rapping but talking and these type of public lives shows that since the whole insinuation is a bit snaky.. that's why Lupe have said no way he will go onto his podcast. I definitely had that reaction when I first heard Canibus. I didn’t know you could rap like that, because before him I was only exposed to mainstream rappers like Jay-Z and 50 Cent. This was in 2011.
