Hi Wyoming is there anny chance that you could post a tyt fille somewhere i been at it for a day either my radio is ffd upp or i am doing something wrong when i programm the radio it shows the transmit freq i take it your supposed to set it dual watch ? when crossband . im a bit lost here or its a software setting in the pr0g im lost here lmao . if annone could help out would be greatly apreciated thx in advance have a great week 73 from Holland.
I had a heck of a time with this, wish I had seen your video earlier. I got this computer because it was on so many of the ham radio youtube channels, but they all showed units with barrel plugs for charging. But like yours the one I got had a USB C. So I did not know anything and thought "Oh, I'll just cut off the power supply from the USB cable that came with the radio and connect it to 12V". I had no idea about USB PD and so my solution did not work. I found this item on Amazon " 83W 12V USB Outlet Laptop Charger: Newest 2 Pack 65W USB-C PD3.0 and 18W QC3.0 Multi Car USB Port 12V Socket Waterproof with Power Switch...., etc" and that paired with the proper USB C to USB C PD cable worked. Always something to learn.
Thank You So much for this info. This is the same procedure and 11882 Code as the Hd1. I have 6 of the Hd1s and have opened them Up. There great radios.
It's not rated to perform in very low light conditions. Plus, you are at 60fps mode. If you dropped it to 24fps it would be more useable. If you want a good digital option, buy the Opsin.
The Aurora Black is rated to about 1/4 moon or ~ 2mlux. There is no mystery to this and SiOnyx have never claimed other. So yes its worthless in pitch black because it was never designed to do that.
You get what you pay for in NV period. PSV14 run forever on one AA and need almost zero ambient light. The smallest of IR light sources make walking in the dark with a PSV14 very easy. Not so with digital NV.
I was trying to figure out how to use the cross band repeat function on my UV-8000D. It's menu item #11, and it has to go across bands, meaning one VHF and one UHF, otherwise it doesnt work. Also, the CTCSS tone thing seems impossible to use until you hit *
After seeing this comment again, I figure I should explain how to use the cross band repeat on the UV-8000D. You enable the function using a programming cable and CHRIP, then you set two frequencies - one for input one for output. Then, you enable menu item #11 called "Turn" The frequencies must be on different bands, or it doesn't work. So, for instance, 147.000 and 446.000 works fine. I would recommend input and output PL tones on both frequencies that match each other.
After 1 year of use, I could say it's may not perfect but good value for money. Cons : -you never know if it is full or not since the battery indicator is not accurate. 1h-4h charge = 3 bar -that clips "swivel" is trash, accidentally drop it during dirt bike ride -potensio/volume selector are too long that made it weak point. - battery secure lock trash Pros -drop it on the rock several times and survive. - drop it to water several times while fishing and its survive. Yeah the speaker sound chirpy for several days till the water dry. -Mom got panic from cockroach and use to bash it and throw it several times. It's survive even with antenna, volumes and screen panel broken. Use it as an indoor intercom now, work well even without antenna 😂
I am sure you are aware but I will say it anyway for those who are not. If your phone has a radio, i.e you can call with it, then the device is compromised, unless the device features separated memory between the radio and OS of the phone. Look it up, near 100% of phones share memory with the radio. I checked with an individual working with relevant things in the telecom industry and I got it verified that that the phone radios are forced to have backdoors. This means all your encryption on the phone is in vain. They will get encryption keys, and anything they want from you. And everything without even unlocking your phone. Unfortunately, the more you learn, the darker the world gets. What is safe though, is to use an encryption pad and do the encryption outside of the device. As long as you do not share the shared secret on the device but do that manually they can not eavesdrop on you. Stay safe 👍
Would you like to share the typeand watts of the solar panel and the type and AH battery you got? Great video buig fan of Anytone and looking to purchase a sola panel
I just tested this out. I can tell the repeater function is working. Because I see it key up when talking and I cannot key up on the 578 when in repeat mode. However when I turn it off, my two 878 can still talk. Unlike how yours were not able too. Does this mean something is wrong or is this okay? Perhaps it could be more functional this way?
Thanks for the video tip. Tried this out on the latest v1.07 CPS and the 2.03 firmware for the GPS model. Totally works but seems like you may *first* need to manually set the "Frequency Set" to "User Defined" on the physical radio itself. If you are running firmware 2.02 or 2.03, it appears that you now need to use menu+8+TurnOn / 777888 to select the "User Defined" frequency set. (Or at least that was my personal experience yesterday/today.) Unlike firmware 2.0.0, menu+6+TurnOn / 654321 only gave me access to the pre-set "IARU1"/"IARU2"/"IARU3" frequency set options.
