Very helpful. My question is how do I pick a simplex frequency for the net and what is the difference between 2 meter and 70 cm for a group of newbies with Technician licenses? Do they go the same distance? Thanks, W9BVM, Joyce
The vehicle radio from 2 years ago, the Yeasu, still has it's protective film I think. The last house radio, from two years ago was tossed out inoperable with the film on it, and the new radio that I got two weeks ago still has the film on it. K6WDC.
That is not a Rohn Tower, I’ve got a 32’ and a 62’. They are U S Tower Company, which also owns HDX Self Standing Towers. Same company though. I’m glad I actually watched these 2 videos, because I’ve been looking for 2 weeks for accessories. Thanks for the website now I can get something’s I’m gonna need.
Great reviews, but I have a question. Some have said the dual-band Abbree antennas are the same as the tri-band antennas and that only the branding is different. The flat-tact antennas are one series and the standard wire antennas are the other. The flat-tacts are the other. The Abbree wire was the other. The AR-771 is the same brand model as the tri-brand. Both are AR-771, so it leads one to think they may be the same. The flat-tact also may be the same antenna as the dual-band. I do not know. Your tests seem to conclude that the flat-tact antennas by Abbree may be far better than anyone thought!
