I've been doing concrete for a couple of years. Honestly, at the beginning it feels kinda overwhelming due to how physically taxing it is, but you'll get used to it. The thing is that you have to do lots of sports in your freetime, or else your joints will be junk before your muscles are strong enough to mitigate the damage. Sadly, that job usually doesn't pay enough for the time you have to spend during and off working hours to be able to do it without sustaining sone major damage when you're old.
Its not that hard bro. I wouldn’t recommend women do it but ive done concrete jobs and it wasnt that hard. Building scaffolding was probably the hardest work I’ve experienced
I'm a retired concrete finisher and running a rod board is probably the most back breaking job on the site. Pushing a wheel barrow full of concrete comes in a close second. Forming, pouring and finishing concrete is not for the weak of heart. Concrete finisher's have some of the strongest core strength in the construction industry.
I did my own concrete slab for my garage bu hand shoveling out 15yards of sand, poured 14 yards of crete , floated it out & smoothing it by hand straight up sucked - my body was shut down for a week after all that.
What’s crazy is they are the most under payed. The boss pulls up in his platinum or Denali diesel, yells at everybody and then goes home for lunch and paperwork lol
So many demeaning comments about women cant do concrete Only because they weren't born with the advantage men have of more muscle build You ain't hulk bro its just naturally there you ain't earnt it
I (a 5ft, 115lb (as I’m sick at the moment lady) WOULD last a day. However at the end of that day, I would probably say “it was nice meeting you all lads, you deserve all they pay you get, see you around” & walk off into the sunset 😂😂😂 because fck that. My dad’s body is ruined from it lmao. I did not finish school and have shadowed him in plastering - hell no, painting & decorating - meh take it or leave it, bricklaying - can be rewarding but ultimately no & carpentry - my favourite but still no. To any youngins out there… stay tf in school & get an office job 😂😂
This is just like Cartman from South Park saying “Being an Astronaut is easy”. Kyle: “Why don’t you show us”. Cartman: “I could do it with my eyes closed, I just choose not to”.
My husband was a concreter. He laid 1000 bricks in a shift. He was in construction for 59 years. Started when 18 and was still busy at 78. He died in March 2024. An amazing man. ❤
I've been doing frame to finish construction for over 25 yrs and some girls can do pretty much anything a guy can, as long as she's in shape. Plenty of women do manual labor on farms, there not all girly girls. FYI This 🤡 life is so comfortable, to only have to do it for a few months and if he couldn't do it he is WEAK. 😁 js
