This is hands down the worst program ever!!! You have to unplug the mic every time you want to listen back.. so tedious and annoying when finding levels. Secondly the vid quality is reduced on iPhone 15 as it filters though the app and makes it low rez / dark even at 4k. Whoever designed this is a fkn idiot. I had the MV51 and on iPhone 8. It had ok vid but the issue of unplugging the mic over and over to listen was total BS. I’ll try other brands.
Jesus Christ can you normalize or compress your audio. Your voice is low enough I have to turn the volume up and then your stingers during transitions are loud enough to make my speakers rattle. I'm skeptical of all your audio advice with such bad mixing in this video.
Don't know if you will see this comment or not, but to my knowledge Manfrotto is kinda like the Shure of tripods, really good quality. Thanks for the video!
I can’t say for s(h)ure, but since all the settings you do in the Shure app is saved to the mic itself, it should work with Smule. I just ordered the mic and I can check Smule compatibility in a few days.
Just an fyi for acoustic guitars. Never mic the sound hole. The mic should pointing at the 12th fret, back about 12 inches. This will make a massive difference.
I believe the incompatibility issue with a USB-C connector has been fixed. The MV88 + works great with my iPhone 15 Pro which uses a USB-C I/O port. 👍🏻 So far, I really like this mic. It opens up a lot of options that weren’t available using the onboard mic and recording app.
@@riverrage yeah, I've been using it with the 15 Pro Max with no issues, just yesterday to record some sound effects for something I'm working on. Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for this excellent video. I was about to purchase a Shure SV7 for my daily show - but now I'm not so sure (Shure)! On faith I've subscribed to your channel. Now let's see what else you have for me... Cheers from North of Cochrane, Ontario, Canada.... almost to Moose Factory, Ontario, Canada.
Thank you for the video! If I record a long file and want to got back and delete bits in the middle of my long recording, then join the remaining bits together, how do I do this in post? I see you can trim certain bits and split…
I have an iPad Pro (In addition to an iPhone). Which similar kit (stereo) would you recommend for an iPad Pro user? Edit: I see in the video you are using an iPad. Is this not a Pro? Please clarify. PS: Great video!
Great video! What settings would you recommend for me playing my electric guitar? Both at lower volumes in my bedroom and louder volumes in a rehearsal studio? In the bedroom the microphone will be about 6 feet away. In the rehearsal studio about 20. Just sent you a Facebook message
Hey, if I use this mic while just using the standard video recording app on the iPhone, will I’ll it be using this mic? Or do I have to record with the video app in order for it to be active?
Hello Greetings I have a question about why I can't use the application: I have the application, but it only lets me modify the parameters in preview mode, I connect my Shure micro and the phone does recognize it and records well with the micro, but I'm sorry I can't use the application parameters and use it with all its possibilities I have iPhone 11 MV88 I connect the cable to the iphone with a usb/lighting adapter, but I don't know if that's why or because I should use the original shure cable I am afraid to buy it and since it is relatively expensive and still not be able to use the application Thank you.
Heya thanks for sharing this! One question: Are you using the MV88 for the entire video? I ask because the quality is great during the "IN USE | Voiceover" section (5:30), but less so during other portions, e.g. THOUGHTS (9:50). Just curious what is going on here / what changed. Thanks again. 🙂
This is a very well done review. I am looking for an easy setup mic to be used with iPhone and this video helps a lot. Especially because I'm planning on using it to record acoustic guitar as well. You play very well too 👏
Hello 👋🏻 friend Could you please share with me what app or program did you use to cut or edit the video? Another thing, I want to make christian or biblical comment to help others on RU-vid and I want to learn what mode or setups are better for that on motive video app with Shure video kit mic 🎤
Saludos! Thanks for watching. I used the LumaFusion app for iPad to edit. When choosing how to setup the mic I recommend watching my other video which explains the Shure MOTIV app. Then try a few setups and listen carefully to hear how they sound. Buena suerte!
I usually raise my MacBook with a box, just so the cable is "long enough" to connect, but also have to have my laptop sideways...not very practical, but works.
Bro, this was an awesome video!! I've just sat and watched 5 reviews about the MV88+ and this was by far the most in depth... The one thing nobody has mentioned though is "vertical video" - it seems that the setup is not compatible for vertical video content - For filming shorts etc.
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah not sure if the Shure apps do vert video, but I think any camera app that does audio should see the mic when it’s connected?
