I just downloaded this and I'm starting to get it configured with my peripherals. I got to say the resolution inside doesn't feel great to me. I wish they would have worked on the textures a little bit more
Great video, Blake. Air Venture 2024 will begin in about two weeks at this writing. I've been once or twice. It's an amazing experience. What a nice time with your grampa.
It was great seeing the family from different generations sharing the passion for flight. All the best to you all in the future. Blue sky's and smooth air.
Every time I touch the Trim the AP disconnects is that realistic or a bug? thank you appreciate the video this is the best FSR 500 video on youtube by far.
@@thepilotblake Subscribed from Australia. This is the ANTI Fast Times Vero channel. At least you know what you are doing compared to the Clown who treats MSFS as an arcade game.
I think they’ve done some work on that. Last time I flew the airplane it felt different. Of course yaw sensitivity is something we can adjust in our MSFS settings if needed
pretty sure most of the discrepancies between the sim and reality with the gen/alt and lights are fixed in the upcoming patch. Also I know they did something with changing landing performance, not sure if that includes fixing the wrong power settings and slow down effect. I hope so.
I sent this video to Raul and he and I had a long talk about it. Several things I discussed in this video will be fixed in coming updates including the gen/alt issue. Some of the things I talked about are limitations in the sim that he can’t help unfortunately which he said includes the slow down effect, but he seemed to think he found a workaround to make it better so let’s hope. However, he didn’t mention anything about the discrepancy in the approach numbers or about the lights getting fixed but I hope those issues will also be addressed soon
Scott, this is Blake's grandfather. I was Maintenace director and flight instructor for the Hinsdale flying club from 1969-1971. Got my commercial and Flight Instructor's rating in N50339. Checked several members out in the 172 & 182.
Hello Tom! I got my PPL with Willie Howell in August 1974, and soon thereafter joined Hinsdale Flying Club. Most of my early hours were logged in that 150H along with the club 1971 CESSNA 172L. The video image of the 150H in Revelle colors is the only one I've ever seen other than a few snapshots of my own. It was a truly good bird to fly! @@aircrafttrainingservicesll4355
Only once and a while do you see a video that changes how you look at life. This is was that video for me. I’ve got a lot to think about now. Thank you for this. Thank you…
I think I used Penny Returns from the Top Gun Maverick soundtrack. However the last song in the video was a guitar cover of hold my hand by Sebastian Lindqvist
not only was the whole country glued to thier TV's but people's patroitism was at an all time high! A great time for our country. Treasure the memories your are making!
What awesome events to witness when we were young! It was a high time in America, I think all of America was glued to their TV at the time. LOL, love Ground Control to Major Tom, Blake, the perfect song from David Bowie! Nice video..
Great job, Blake! That was quite a landing, especially with the rather icy conditions 😨😅 Thanks for sharing, as this was a learning experience for me also. Looking forward to more of your videos. Cheers!
45 yr Colorado Pilot here ; those long straight in approaches are not the best. I ALWAYS overfly the AP to look at it no matter what unicom says. Be CARFUL in those low powered AC! Always know what the wind is doing and NO MT flying over 2o knots wind if your from out of town, it can and will kill you. nice Vid BTW!
Curious, does the 20kt rule apply to piston powered A/C? Flown tons of mountain time in turbine helicopters, and I can’t recall many days when it was anything below 20kts? In fact, somedays you’re counting on it for landings and takeoffs at GW!
Great video. I was wondering if you would be able to provide the route you took to get to Leadville? We are based out of KSLN and are considering taking a flight to Leadville and I am just trying to determine the best route and which passes would be best to plan. Thanks in advance.
Fantastic! It was 40 years ago I earned my license at that airport. OSH. Enjoy your time with granddad and your wonderful hobby. Time to come home again and see this exiting group this summer. Air Venture 2023.
