This car excels at very high speeds for long periods of time in complete comfort. You can drive it across country at triple digits…no problem. 0-60 mid 4s, top speed is 180+. It’s very heavy. You’re driving a rental, of course it’s going to show some wear. Again, you can’t go off of RU-vid videos to form your opinion about Maserati…..Maseratis are an acquired taste….you don’t buy a Maserati for all the latest advances…you buy it for the engine, sound, pedigree…if you want perfect…buy a German car. As far as the price, brand new, yes, they are worth it…but I’m a fan of the brand. The problem is, people defer the maintenance…then they sell it and the next owner defers maintenance…it snowballs, things break and people assume it’s the cars fault and it’s not.
I rented a C7 Z06 on Turo and didn't like it. People want to believe they shook off their image as the cheapo alternative to the European sports cars at this time, but the interior is just as cheap and will fall apart in a few years just like all the older Corvettes. It felt big and ponderous and had terrible visibility and an engine that was unrefined and physically painful to listen to.
If you think about it, these 3 have the best job in the world right now for a car enthusiast. Kennan's videos are interesting, tame and factual because Kennan is a complete nerd about cars. Filipo's videos are more interesting and entertaining because he is finding himself as a car enthusiast and its nice to watch him grow into these sports cars, which he has never really been familiar with.
This reminds me of old school Doug videos. Please keep making fun challenge based car videos. It reminds me of Top Gear. So much more interesting than rambling about quirks and features.
Well another depreciated car similar to that one is a F-Type R convertible. Just found one for 40k with 40k miles. Both the Jag and Maserati probably have outrageous warranty prices since they are POS.
They have depreciated that much because they are so expensive to keep on the road. I'm still glad I passed on a test drive of one - I might have gotten too tempted by that engine.
First Elises (s1) had a Rover engine not Toyota. Toyota engine and gearbox brings weight and rock solid reliability. Getting in and out is not a big problem with practice. The big problem comes when you are parked next to another car as you can’t open the door to its full extent making ingress and egress much harder.
As someone else said on another video, Filippo is becoming the only relatable person on cars and bids since he's more down to earth and hasn't owned Ferraris or lambos or has owned 9 cars at a time
The BMW 650i MSport Cabriolet (2012-2018) and M850i (2019+) is its cllosest competitor. The BMWs are faster, more reliable, and you don’t have to drive 100 miles to find someone to service them.
