Thanks for the great instructional video. This turned out to be the same issue I was having as well. It turned out to be the cheapest appliance fix ever.
Not a dumb question at all... Replacing the flange would be a much bigger job because it would mean cutting off the pipe below the flange and fixing up the mess that you would make where the pipe goes through the floor.
@@tru3sk1ll Yes, that does sound like it would be pretty easy to swap it out if that is just a slip fit on your RV. On mine, the ABS material is glued together so it was going to be a bit more complicated.
@@MsPookiesmom Yeah that's weird, mine wasn't glued at all , there was some weird rubber grommet/attachment, I just pulled hard and in popped right out, so I just bought a new flange and it was easier for me
Question is how permanent is this? Is the stress that broke the flange gonna rip that thing out of the wood? After all there are 4-6 bolts holding the flange down.
Ripping it out of the wood is certainly possible. I believe that this "fix" into the wood is stronger than the original situation where the ABS-plastic flange is what was providing the side-to-side resistance for the toilet not to move. It's been about a year now and we've actually taken the RV on some long trips (I'm retired) and lived in it for several months out of this past year and it has held up so far. I think the key is just whether we (or anybody using our toilet) uses body weight to exert a strong sideways force on the toilet. If it doesn't get abused I suspect it will last longer than the rest of the RV. Of course, if someone (me?) puts all their body weight on one side of the toilet and applies a lot of sideways stress then it will certainly break out of the wood. Although, as I said already, I suspect the ABS on the other side of the flange that I didn't change will likely go first.
I try not to put my weight but.... My wife and I and 2 kids are full timers. Our unit is a 2022 model year. It hasn't been without it's issues but it seems to be one of the better one of these models overall. I did notice that on this one the installers didn't use the sliding portion of the flange, they used one of the other holes, so it was a thicker portion of ABS. Being a 2022 there's no leaks or rot. I'm paranoid about rot, so I do everything I can to prevent it
@@gary_marshfinally did the mod last night. It doesn't seem as sturdy as it was originally but that could easily just be perception and time between repair and issue. Hope it works.
Thank you for this great video. I had just replaced with cold water inlet valve and noticed I was still getting water. I ran it with the lid off and noticed the hose loose but for some reason thought it was to allow air in the drain line. Great video!!! very helpful...
Thank you! I went through many RU-vid videos to try to find the fix that sounded like our specific issue. Most videos listed all sorts of fixes but just a few words on your video got us right to the problem. I had just washed a heavy item when I noticed the leak and when I heard you say the same thing I knew we had to look at that issue first BINGO! I am the researcher and my husband is the handyman so he was very happy that we were able to narrow it down so quickly.
I can't say with 100% certainty, but just now looking at a still/freeze-frame of it from 1:40 in the video and then putting a tape measure up against my fingers for reference... :) I'd say it was probably around 2 - 1/2 inches long in total. Maybe 3.... Good luck!
Thank you very much for your video. My washing machine was leaking as well due to this exact problem and It saved me from spending atleast $200 bucks for the plumber visit
Very fortunate I was able to find your video. Although I have a slightly different washer - kenmore elite 41582. The same simple thing happen that caused the leak. Does make me wonder why this hose was not zipped tied up like other hose; maybe to inform that something is clogging the water outlet line? Thanks for sharing and helped fixed the issue!
Unfortunately we never did. My dad (tractor owner) did talk to a service tech but they didn't reveal any secret menus or ways to enter that. In the end my dad decided it wasn't worth continuing to search or fuss with. Best guess is that the manual is talking about a feature that isn't in the tractor we have but must be on some other ones.
I love it too! I'll be recommending it to any friends that might want to take up RC flying. I have enjoy doing maneuvers that a newbie like me should probably not be doing (loops, rolls, and inverted) and provided I do my risky flying high enough the SAFE system built into this plane can recover if I have trouble. It is really great for a beginner.
Well that was a bummer! :P How do you like the plane? I picked mine up 3 days ago, went out to the "local" airstrip.. an hour of driving.. This thing flies like a dream! I am unexperienced, meaning i crash alot, everything from aerobatic balsa models to these foam planes.. i crash them all.. But the apprentice actually was a dream, i turned off the gyroscope and did some aerobatics and turned it on and landed without crashing.. that's a big thing for me! :P even in sidewind i managed to land!
