am i the only one who liked them better together when they were just best friends? they had a less complicated relationship, they never argued, and their bond was strong. as soon as they got together, they became slightly toxic mainly due to their dreams getting in the way, their jealousies, and indecisiveness. spencer and olivia understood each other more as besties than they did as love interests. i know that relationships are gonna come with hardships, but they always ended up having something bad happening to the point where it was splitting them both apart.

Kudos!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I think Spencer definitely loved Olivia since day one but of course didn't realize it because he was blinded by his attraction for Layla (the forbidden rich princess girl fantasy lol) I feel like his feelings for Olivia surfaced earliest on at the cotillion. If you go back and watch, how he is watching her as they dance together in perfect sync. When Layla takes him away and tries to kiss him he really can't bring himself to kiss her in that moment because subconsciously he did have feelings for Olivia, but again his mind hadn't caught up with his heart yet. He admitted to Olivia how proud he was of her and had even been listening to her podcast, he had already taken interest in her. So It was easy for him to jump in front of that bullet for her. He already loved her and wanted to protect her at any cost. Then of course when he realized he was in love with her, was just everything!!!😭🥰❤️
He’s feelings got magnified after the breakup w Layla and even before a bit he took a chance w Layla it worked but wasn’t the one yk I love liv and spencer better than anything he always did love her he knew deep down in his heart but hid it and moved on w Layla, layla just got in the way of that tbh
Yes!!! Agree! After he confessed his love for Olivia, I rewatched the previous episodes 🙈😅to see if I could see it early on and the subtle hints were always there! But not knowing and just watching we were redirected to only what was blatantly seen.

Most scenes Spencer is usually stealing a glance and Olivia always carried Spencer with her I have been there. You can love someone and have to be in present but it doesn’t mean those feelings go away you learn to lock them and suppress them but if you truly are lucky enough to find this type of connection they don’t go away.
Spencer should have left my Layla along and never gotten involved with her he piss me of he should have stayed with liv in the first place I don’t like how he did my girl Layla at all that was not cool he has a big heart but it gets him in trouble sometimes!!!!!!

I'm spelivia all the way but her and Chris were cute and Spencer and Kia were cute together too. I love that the writers made them best friends. It shows that even though you're ex's you can still be great friends.

Some of the scenes probably look different or "new" to y'all but they're not & I'll tell u why. These previous scenes got recontextualized with Spencer's love confession to Liv so now they have more context and a deeper meaning. Scenes that once looked regular are now blatantly obvious romance from Spencer's side. He's always been deeply in love with her & jealous of her relationships bc he wanted her for himself. The scenes were subtle and hinted throughout the entire series from episode 1 starting from small hints into bigger ones and then once he confessed he loves her you're able to identify the love in each hint. That is why the scenes look new, bc in a way they are. They have newer context that can be applied to them now making the scenes heavier. This is what good authors do in their stories when building up important plot points of a story.
I know you wrote this 2 years ago and maybe you don't remember the show because possibly you've stopped watching it as the years went on 😬 but I literally just started watching this series on Netflix and everything you just wrote is so spot-on. And I found myself going back and re-watching the entire series again after Spencer's love confession and I saw the hints that you were talking about they were really subtle but you caught him looking at Olivia and there were moments where you could see he definitely liked her and had jealous moments with Chris and that one time with Asher😅The writing of this show is brilliant!!!
@@Canela927 thanks sweetheart for the comment I'm glad u noticed too. Especially the Jacuzzi skinny dipping dare scene & the scene of her walking down the stairs for prom (or homecoming? Can't remember which) when she went with Chris, Spencer was feeling her so much and so jealous. Also the scene where Chris told Spencer Olivia liked him and Spencer said "nah no way" and then Chris said "yes she did and she still does" Spencer looked at Olivia in shock and disbelief and slight hurt cuz he felt he missed his shot with her. The hints of him loving her was Def there from the start. Thanks for this comment it's ok if it was old but season 3 definitely recontextualized all their interactions 🥺💕😭

The way he had grabbed her hand and assured her then when he checked on her before saying hi to the guys on the team. He def liked her from the start. I don't know if you peeped how they filmed it. When Asher came to Spencer's house to join in helping Olivia with Spencer and Kia, she answers Spencer's door for him and says Hi Babe to Asher and proceeds to kiss him but we don't actually see it because the camera cuts to Spencer and he looks away as she does it. Lol I rewatched the entire series again. I see every single hint of him loving her now so much. 😁It was brilliant the way they wrote in their evolution of how much they loved each other 😍
