This is your daily reminder to BUILD SOMETHING AWESOME!
I just purchased a LX470 yesterday, already had the vinyl on order and independently chose the same exact one from the same company lol I found this video researching how to remove the door panel trim pieces.
I set up the sound system just like you did, but I'm hearing a popping sound, and the music keeps cutting out for a few seconds before continuing. Any idea what might be causing this?
Just wanted THANK YOU for all the GX470 videos you took the time to make and post. I have used many of your videos for work on my GX470. I'm guessing you do this as A Business, if so where are you located? I have A couple things I want to get done to my 2005 and would like to thank you for all that you have shared to everyone by giving you the work or business. Also from watching your videos I very much trust you know what you are doing. Please let me know and I will let you know what I am looking to get done to the GX470. Thanks
I’ve watched both of your videos on the window trim. Since Garage Alpha does not sell the entire set, would you recommend spending the $180 for a full OEM set from eBay??
Love your channel about the GX 470! In the future, if you have any questions about what to use for polishing or stuff like that, I recommend you look up project farms channel.😊
Did the LASFIT two years ago as well and have been perfect! Also the motorcycle NiLlight light mounts inside the fog light housing! I think that was Hawkeye Garage but brilliant and perfect! Thanks for all the great mod tips!
My M4 has a valve cover leaks right now. Got it diagnosed from BMW and they wanted to charge me $4900 parts+labor. Insanity. I unfortunately do not have a place to fix it myself nor am I confident in my mechanical ability. hoping to find a shop that will do it for at least half that -_-
Awesome mod man! I want to ask though, the black bulb where the wire attaches too that hangs down. Would that configuration work with a skid plate? I’m wondering how that would be when off-roading too.. regarding its vulnerability hanging lower like that. Thanks!
Great question and it's a concern of mine that I'll be keeping an eye on. I'm planning to do rock sliders and skid plates this fall so I'll probably revisit the exhaust valve when I do those videos. For now it's been out of the way and havent had issues on trails yet. I'm mostly in mud and water down here in Florida, so not as much rocky terrain.
Great question! Unfortunately, it doesnt work as the voltages are different levels for the screen vs. OEM camera. I did a video on installing an after market camera to the head unit and it works great.
Premium fuel burns slower and in general cleaner. The main reason is that Phil recommended the premium tune as it is a more noticeable difference in performance.
These tunes is not mainly a performance tune. It is more to better drivability when adding weight and bigger tires. Just because a company has a dyno sheet means anything. If I hit performance headers I def would run a dyno with the tune and that when it really matters
I wish I knew a shop local to have gotten before dyno numbers, but I could do an after…not sure how much value it has if we don’t have the before to compare. I guess if someone else has stock numbers we could roughly compare.
I just got this issue since changing my TMIC to an aftermarket as my stock was leaking! I checked and mine still has massive vacuum pressure whereas others have said they have no/positive pressure. Would this still be from the PCV?
Yes! I actually created my own brackets that I sell online now. Vlog 69 at 14:00 shows the difference in the lighting with and without the Awesomoto brackets.
Hello, I think I have a problem with the abs modules, no errors or lights come on, the symptom is and when I turn on the windshield above 120kmh it stops, losing around 20kmh, could it really be the abs module? When I deactivate drybranking through coding it doesn't help me but I feel the car is a little stuck at the speed level, thanks for the answer, hugs from Portugal
Hey Tiago! Your symptoms sound like they are different from what I encountered, so I would say it's something else causing your issue. Have you resolved it yet?
@@Awesomoto Hello, yes friend, after a lot of research and no errors after updating the software on the whole car it remained the same, I remembered doing the test in progress with the ABS module turned off and it generated errors but none of what was expected I risked buying the abs module, I programmed it, it was resolved And that's when the errors generated, they were all resolved after 1 month 😅
@@Awesomoto yes and I thought it was the software or the reprogramming but in the end it was the module and nothing was wrong, only when it reached speeds above 100kmh the windshield wiper blades turned on, the car lost speed by 20kmh and it didn't warn the brakes on the rear light apparently and I called the I still deactivated draybraking but the car seemed to be stuck while moving, but it was really the module, thankfully the headache has gone away and even though I would brake on a descent and the car would stay stuck for 3 seconds and then move
Did you put any sealent in the spacers so water doesnt leak from your roof? I see in the PDF in their page they have ome sealent in them, but it doesn't say to put any.
Yes, I added a clear silicone sealant. I didn’t do it at first and then read it months later in their instructions. I didn’t encounter any leaks without it over those few months, but it’s just a good safe measure to do
Me too, I agree!! I have the DT headers and Y-pipe to install yet.. but I think w/ the carven it’s going to be way too loud. Maybe paired with this set up back to the stock muffler may be the move
I' at 10:15 sec, that's a lot of tire to shove in that wheel well. I want to do something similar with stock height. I did put Bilstein 5100 shocks and Metal Tech coils on the rear. Keeping front struts because prior owner just replaced them.
I’m having the same issue. 😮.. would you all purchase another BMW ( in the future ) I had 5 so far. NEVER again! My experience with BMW is like being in an abusive relationship with a narcissist
It does slightly (maybe 1-3mph). It wasn’t enough for me to do anything about, but if it bothers you there are some people on GXOR facebook group who have instructions on modifying that circuit on the gauge cluster to correct it.
I know this is an old video so you Might not respond but witch m car is in the driveway sorry I’m a massive bmw nerd I have a 4 series currently and am about to buy one of these gx470’s for another winter shitter along side of my mkiv Jetta tdi
I try to answer all comments no matter how old the video! Thanks for reaching out! 🙏🏻 The car in the driveway is my 2015 BMW M4. She’s my baby and was the reason I got the GX to be my beater daily.
Thanks for reaching out! Good point, replacing both is what should be done in case the other is on the way out too. Glad to hear you replaced it yourself with out the dealership tax lol.
Please explain exactly what you mean by "a huge increase in braking performance". Surely this equates to a much shorter stopping distance? Otherwise, it is a waste of money and time. I see a lot of companies claiming "increased braking performance" but none of them post any actual data..."proof" and I'm not as gullible as most people.
Sounds like you aren't very fun at parties either pal. He stated in the video that looking back he wished he would have done some before and after tests. Also the price isn't wildy expensive either so both of your statements don't really make much sense. Looks like you fooled yourself buckaroo.
Yes, I agree…I should have been more quantitative in the video, but working a full-time job with overtime it’s challenging to make every video perfect. It’s a weekend hobby, so some videos get more enthusiasm than others. It’s the cheapest brake upgrade you can do and I’d estimate 15-20% better braking. Not life changing, but worth the small investment.
Stop showing these terrible ways to replace cv boots by opening the axle joints!!!! There are easier ways using cv boot kits that are less time consuming and much safer.
Many (including myself) swear by this method with Toyota CVs. I’ve had issues with the cv boot kits that are “much easier” failing due to the adhesive failing on the trail and under heat. If you know what you are doing this is completely safe.
LMAO!! 😂 You know that should have been a statement in the summary section, but I think my exhaustion in the garage got the best of me and I forgot to mention the key point. Ultimately, yes it did get rid of the oscillations and it drives smooth as butter with the new driveshaft.
