@dragonsystems5973
@dragonsystems5973 2 месяца назад
Perhaps, but it started during the pandemic. I believe its tech influencers feeding off an apparent desire on the part of a large portion of their audience to see "Big tech held accountable" Which I think is nonsense. Look, we are gamers, and I know it sucks having miners eat up our GPU stocks, HOWEVER, we are in a different world today than in 2016 when the 1080 was released. The fact is a GPU is far more than a pretty picture maker in 2024, and the new reality is that we are in competition with other use cases for these products. Personally I found with my first 3080 that I got right after they came out, yeah, I had to get a little creative, but I still got one like a couple weeks in. These influencers could choose to do what I am doing, make videos that say what I say, yeah, if you have money and access to the products, heck yeah buy, but if not, here is how you can still have fun with what you do have. I am not saying that never happens, but there definitely is a leaning toward feeding a nonproductive anger that is basically meaningless... its like cmon, Nvidia isnt a cigarette company giving us cancer or a food company using GMO that needs to be held accountable, these are more or less luxury goods

Until proven otherwise, the 980Ti is the highest performing card that I have tested under $100 (actually under $75 in many cases). It beats the rx590 and 1070 easily. There are tons available online, not just a one off. I rocked 3 different 9080Ti versions for a good 2 months. The problem for me was the power draw and sheer size. The cheapest 980Ti I had was $45 shipped and the guy had more than 10 in stock. The most I paid for a 980 Ti was $80 shipped because it was the AMP and it destroyed the base model 980Ti. I finally moved on because I have a small dell case and the card was just too much for only a 10 fps bump in COD MW2 at the time.

It does beat the 1070, but I dont think it would beat a 1080, and I do regularly pick those up around $80, even off of the open market like eBay. My unpopular opinion, 30 FPS is playable, unless the game framepacing is shit, and this was the case of 90's pre 2005 games, 30 FPS was "great", I played a1t 20 and 15 some games because the PC could not handle more sometimes, we did not care really.
