From what I can tell the only available versions currently for sale are in german. Not to say you can't find one if you look hard enough. I just did a quick google search and it looks like the book is hard to come by. If I happen to talk with Klaus I'll ask him if he knows where people can get it and then post it.

I am lucky to have an original Neumann M249 in my cupboard which I will propably keep until the end. I remember the days when original U47's could be found on ebay every second week in the price range between 3000 and 5000 Euro. I should have take a loan and buy them all, too late now ;-) ....
I am in the same boat @megaSoundscapes! I have a vintage u67 from Klaus but I would really like a u47, M49 et al. Now I would need to sell my house to get those mics! Klaus is a treasure to the music world and I feel very fortunate to talk with him and share it. Thank you for the comment.

Wayne, it's pretty crazy the youtube algorythms have not gotten this to more people. It got 5500 watches on linked-in the first 2 weeks, and that group of people are mostly business-people. I must need to work on my controversial titles or hashtags: ). Something like "Klaus Heyne tells all about Pdiddy parties and how microphones were used." (joking of course).

Ya. It was a great amp. The Soldanos are everything a person would want in a 80's style hard rock amp. But I'm old enough now where I mostly play less distorted and I'm not interested in carrying the seperate head and cabinet. I have a 1972 Fender Champ and Marshall JCM 800 50 watt combo that I kept, plus a Kemper. You can't replace that big sound of the head and cabinet, but for my current needs the smaller, lighter setups work fine.
I've owned the 100w Hot Rod and that is a great sounding distortion channel! But again, unless you have cartage or roadies to help carry your equipment, It's a young man's game. I'm down to a 1972 Fender Champ with pedals and a Kemper. You can't go wrong with the Soldano's though IMO.

Thanks Dennis for the note. I really like the combo. The Friedman breaks up without crazy high volume (and I have the OX Box too, but don't really need it) and the Soldano has a very thick, heavy rock distortion. The coolest part to me about the combo is it sounds great for blues (in my humble opinion) and clean too. It's really a great rig-but it's a young man's rig, or a rig for someone with help carrying! I have kept it in my living room so that has never been a problem for me: )
