Hi! Just stumbled upon this. I have a 5ft tall variegated epipremnum pinnatum that has massively out grown its pole and I want to switch the pole to a self watering pole ADD lower all of the vines so all the mature leaves are at the bottom and will continue to grow mature fenestrated leaves as it grows back up BUT the aerial roots are so deep into the pole… I truly don’t know how to go about this! Helppppp
Hey James! To switch your Epipremnum pinnatum to a self-watering pole and adjust for mature leaf growth: moisten the current pole to ease detaching the plant. If roots are embedded, carefully cut away the pole. Install the new pole and reattach the plant lower for desired leaf positioning. Trim any damaged roots, using rooting hormone on cuts. Water well after repositioning and keep in indirect light. It may take time for the plant to adjust, so be patient! 💚 🌱
Not every plant needs to be kept moist. It’s just a way to prompt the plants up. Just don’t expect philodendrons to size up on it without upsizing the base pot
You didn’t answer the question about how to consistently keep a damp because the water does dry up, so how do you do that with an Amazon purchased moss pole?
If your pothos is still thriving and you're noticing roots crowding the bottom or growing out of drainage holes, it's time for a bigger pot. A size up, about 1-2 inches larger in diameter, should be perfect for giving it the space it needs to continue growing healthily.
my pothos plant is super super long like yours. it's in a 3 gallon pot. what size pot is yours in? also do i just keep going around the pot or ive seen where all the leaves are in the front too.
Hey!! For your long pothos, both wrapping around the pot for a full look or arranging the leaves to face the front work great. It's about your visual preference. For a front-facing display, gently guide and secure vines as needed. Both methods will showcase its length beautifully in a 3-gallon pot.
Word to the bird of paradise! Gotta keep riding that plant wave into areas undiscovered, now more than ever. I try listen to one of your songs at least once a day and it's like a gps to the plants lol The plant community appreciates you, cheers, let's gooooo!! 💦🌱💫
