Join me as we go fishing and foraging for mushrooms and trout in the backcountry of Washington. Click like and subscribe to watch regular footage of fly fishing, mushroom foraging, backpacking, packrafting, shed hunting, fly tying, and more. Together we'll stock alpine lakes with baby trout, set hooks and paddle rapids in river riffles, fill our baskets with boletes, morels, and chanterelles, and even find an elk shed or two.
If you're into the outdoors in the PNW, then you found the right channel.
Love this Tori. I wish we could have also made it this year but it wasn't to be. Next year. Thanks for doing such a great job in the filming/editing. Super fun.
Helps to have a 'live and let live' philosophy when fly fishing because most people don't have the same respect for the experience of being in nature. However property damage and camping within arms reach of your site crosses a line. So happy you had a good time at the next lake, I've camped there several times and the extra 0.5mi is well worth it.
Tobi, basically your saying that someone moved your trout to a different location along the same log where originally placed? What was broken on your fly reel? Was the reel breakage from your error, or another human's carelessness? There is a sense of frustration, and disappointment in your voice, as you put situation into words. You were the bigger person. Having someone say "sorry you feel that way", is a condescending way of responding to a legitimate series of stepping over there bounds and into your space.
Yeah. But from the adult's comment you can sense that she's either never was tought manners herself or is simply too stupid. Got that in Germany too. My mum would have tought me with her hands 😂 Wasn't always good but effective. I talk to my kids. They would never do this. Those are simply idiots. Greetings from Germany
One of the weird things I've noticed with spring kings is that they can show up with REALLY young trees. Like, knee high maybe only a couple years old sapling grand firs.
Nice video, looks like this is becoming a popular fishery! I fished this lake twice right around ice off and had a couple follows but no lakers either. Going to try during late fall. Great cutthroat fishery nonetheless. Found some older videos of yours and looks like your a trailblazer. I went on my first little stocking trip with Steve and Jim on Monday. Need to do two more this summer, let me know if you need any help on your stockings. I’ll be at the meeting next Thursday. Jerad
It's becoming more popular because social media & RU-vidrs blow up spots. How many spots will they blow until all of them are pressured to the point of no return?
@@SuperDuper-dz9re not sure your passive aggressive comment is landing since I never once named this lake or location. If a local recognizes it by sight, then high five to them! These videos are for entertainment and education. The wilderness is for EVERYONE!
@@fungionthefly when you mention the specific fish, it's not hard to figure out at all. These things bring crowding to specific areas, instead of folks spreading out into their own adventures.
I took my son on a fly fishing trip to Missoula last year for his 10th birthday. He did his first float trip and we did some wading as well. He caught the biggest fish of the trip and we made some lifelong memories. Loved watching this!
@fungionthefly I did! Lol! I recognized the place & knew where you were! 😆 when I went to commit, your other vid started playing & I committed on the wrong episode! Lol 😂.... ✈️🛩🔥🔥🍄🟫🍄🟫☀️🤌🍄🏕🎣🤞🤙
Not me who went hunting for morels and spring kings yesterday only to fine a SINGLE morel - not even a flush just one hanging out by its lonesome. Keep the adventures coming.
Witnessing that Elk Fawn would have been shockingly spooky, given mothers in the wild will defend their young vigorously. A dangerous situation for you and your pup. Tobi, can you share with the novice fungi hunters, why the shroom stem is cut, rather than pulled from the earth? Thanks so much for all you do and share! Is there a story behind the wrist bracelet on your left hand?
That sooo reminds me when I was a kid foraging with my grams. We didn’t have much of a relationship but we always connected while mushrooming. I never like them either, just knew grams did. Those were very beautiful rivers/creeks! Jealous of your weekend!🤣. Can’t wait for the next video!! Thank you!!
