Hi. Thanks for the info. I think the TI software is too old. It freezes in the beginning of install in windows 11. Do you know of any workaround? I thought with older Virus player (Osirius?) the file was available somewhere in the web. Do you know if there is any other way to get that bin file?
Followed this exact, but for Ableton Live 10, and no joy. It only shows Virus Ti and no Usual Suspects. Tried this twice, and know computers and how to install, Windows with good power, but just won't find the synth.
Hello, can you please tell me if there is a tutorial for installing on Mac and Logic? I installed VST3 but when I open the plugin in Logic it says "A Virus TI firmware (.bin) is required, but was not found."...
hello, thanks for this walkthrough! can you also share any knowledge on how to setup the OstirusFX? no sound is coming into it in DAW (?) how to setup external input in it?
Awesome. I still have my Virus TI Desktop and my log in to the website still works. Seems I have the first step requirements to revive the sounds I lost access to. Thanks for the video!
You should probably mention that the downloader will not work without an actual hardware Virus. I needed to enter the serial number of my Virus to download the firmware. But once done, the software sounds absolutely identical with the hardware, I cannot hear any difference whatsoever.
Hi, I'm running Windows 10/Ableton live 11. I followed your instructions but with no joy ( I've even looked at your file sizes to make sure mine are the same ) i have triple checked your instructions, but I'm getting a message saying "No Virus ti can be found" Any help would be appreciated.
@@Beyond-Antares Thanks! I looked at it all again, and i was being an idiot. i was trying to run the virus TI vst3 listed under "access music electronics Gmbh" in Ableton rather than than running Ostirus vst3 listed under the "usual suspects"
Legally? but if the virus is discontinued and not sold any more, what laws are we breaking? they could sell me a virus in a garage sale, simple. or if the product is discontinued it means no support, nobody cares about that product, isnt that right? why they would suddenly care if i get a copy of a firmware? It feels kind of double standards.
I had a TI2 like 14 years ago. This emulator is the same beast, just incredible! Very sad for Access though, but why didn't they ever evolve the TI series? Now since computers are so powerful they could have sold a ton of software licenses too.
I really appreciate you explaining this procedure so patiently and well. It was a big help and it's much appreciated. I was already in awe of Osirus and I'm not usually an early adopter, so I was holding off installing Ostirus ... now I'm in disbelief I now have all these inspiring sounds at my disposal for free!
Struggling to get it work on mine; I've got an older OS, Big Sur 11.0.1, might be why.. It's in my VST3 folder but won't show up in my DAW (Ableton) - if anyone can help I'd appreciate it
I wrote in one video and I´ll write it again: it was not a long time ago when I was thinking to buy a Virus TI.... Thank you for this! Have to download and fire up my Reason 12 too.
Yes, you can buy a perpetual Reason 12 licence for $499 here: www.reasonstudios.com/shop/product/reason-12/ You can also register for an account on the KVR forums, and search for someone selling a used license for cheaper. www.kvraudio.com/forum/ Note: If you go that route, it is a good idea to verify that the seller has positive feedback from selling to other users before. www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74467
If you look closely, you can see Scales' just below my left arm in the rack. There are two rows of glowing green LEDs that turn red as I run up and down the scale.
