The mayan red makes an interesting backrun effect (the granulation) that the genuine blue does too. I have a dot sample of red, it’s an interesting coolish mid red option.
Thanks for sharing! Loved the comparisons and info. One small bit of feedback, I found the music to be way too loud and made it difficult to hear and understand you.
Oh! Thank you for letting me know ill try to adjust it! I do try to lower it as much as i can but as *I* know what im saying i might be keeping it higher than i should 😅 thanks! 💕
Thank you! 👏😊 This is really helpful and it's so interesting to hear the background about a colour 😮 Is there a way to know how long watercolour paper normally lasts? 🤗
No había considerado lo del papel pero tienes mucha razón :O Amo totalmente el papel que usaste para las bitacoras que hiciste. Es mi libreta favorita y ojalá tuviera mas jajaja
Definitely go check! Its not like the top paper expires, the whole pad does! You can expect that one pad was all manufactured at the same time so, it will all expire together... Its really sad! Thats why you need to use up your supplies 🥲 which i clearly didnt do ☠️
Paper manufactures put sizing in watercolor paper. Sizing is typically made from gelatine, it can be animal, synthetic or plant made. If vegan supplies are important to you, you should definitely check if your paper is vegan! After some years, or due to bad storage conditions (like hot climate or humidity) the sizing can expire, causing the watercolor paper to no longer perform as intended. So definitely start using those pads you have tucked away and stop buying new pads/blocks, everytime you go to the art store! Better used in anything than expired and thrown away!
My audio cut off for a bit from 28:56 to 29:16! I had lots of trouble exporting this and it seems a little error snuk in. I just showed you a bamboo stick to measure matcha so not much was lost!
Only 1 person on youtube did understand that the sides of the sticker are made toc rip of and there stands everithing you need to know about the colors like name and pigment thats used!!!
Yes i realized this after the fact but i would have to see if all sides are neatly stuck down or if the corners are peeling off 🤔 i feel the latter one would drive me crazy 😅 still i feel you shouldnt put such and strong adhesive near the top layer of your paints.
When i do swatches for videos i want them to be super nice so i used fabriano artistico! Its 100% cotton 🤗 i recommend you buy the loose sheets instead of the blocks cause they are faaaar cheaper 😉
It does feel like paper, but having tried a regular matte screen protector and a paper feel one I would go for the regular matte screen thingy, the paper one has so much texture it sands the tip of your pencil so you have to replace it faster. That said, I have now wore down both the pencil tip AND the screen protector itself 😅
I have a monopigmented set and I love it very much. I'm also curious to try out new granulating colors and metallics that they recently came up with. Cool video, have fun with your new set!
Those colors look so pretty but a stuggle to get out of the packaging! I like how you put them in a ceramic palette with the names close by so you would not lose it. And wow I think this is one of my favorite pieces that you've made! Niced to see the pencil texture on top of the paints!! Little question, was the paint very grainy to work with or was it quite smooth?
They werent hard to unwrap just A LOT of packaging 😆 thank you so much! Im very happy with it 🥰 they were pretty grainy, you can feel it when you touch the paper except for the bone white, that one melted away!
I do ship internationally! I just dont have a store because my main customers are local and they prefer to buy over DM or in person 😅 but you can message me on IG and we can set it up 😁
You have my appreciation 💙💛 I have been using watercolors from this brand for quite a long time, and I like the quality very much. Have fun with your new set! 🤗
You need to have them stiff if you’re using them for travel Books. You might want to put an envelope in the back to hold stuff you find on the way. White pans are better because you can write the information for when you you need to buy more. Speaking of buying your products where do I look?
sorry that I never replied to you until now! Unfortunately I only ship locally due to my PO having unreasonably high prices for international shipping.
I love Rosa Watercolor. They’re the best I’ve painted with. Lovely smooth paint, very bright and happy colors. I left the sides with the information on the sides of the pans so I didn’t have to clean or write it on. I needed a different tin because I think I’m up to 34 colors, they mix so nicely. And supporting the Ukraine makes it better.
Yeah. That one looks very interesting. I'm new to this visual art stuff and I've fallen in love with color mixing, but I feel a need for that set. Need. Not want :)
I agree.. gansai is NOT for Western techniques but if you search for nihongga (Japanese painting/art), sumi-e, e-tegami and other ancient Asian techniques they are are perfect... I haven't made my own video on these yet but I really want to because it's like having a wine competition with grapes from Italy, France, California and then you have sake (rice wine). It's unfair to judge them by the same standards but at the same time, they did use the term "wine" so I can't blame people for comparing.... ahahaha. I'd say Gansai is more like a gouache-watercolor hybrid . the most I can do is suggest following www.youtube.com/@kaitekiart7666 because she can be searched via English keyboard lol. Other Japanese artists, I can't easily search for and I wait til the RU-vid algorithm suggests them to me. Gansai transports you to a surreal world if you find the right artists who actually know how to use the medium
It was so much fun hearing you talk about these paints and what you thought of them! I did not know how their binder was made so I learned some new information. I did use this exact set on a drawing I made last Friday and they where fun to use as a first layer and then work on top with different paint/colored pencils. I also noticed as well that they dried up quite shiny, more than I would like :O I love how the genshin ladies turned out and it was cool to see your digital color sketch and how you transformed into a traditional art piece. Happy to see you upload again 🧡

\o/ wooo! Can't wait for the next!!! Congrats on the launch (of the channel)!!! Your voice audio was really low in the end of the vid there, so careful on the next one! (Also I didn't know you got a Strawbarrian qwq thanks! <3)
