I think there’s no way Scott starts over Pryor or waterman. I’ve observed his video closely, so far he seems to be a one trick pony, allyoop/dunk threat, lots of leaping ability, but I’ve seen nothing that suggests he can outplay an acc caliber big, or veteran players like the pry an No. I think he will eventually get there, and could be great by his junior year, but there’s some development that may still be needed there. Beyond that, he has all the physical tools. Could stand to be a little stronger and bigger, and develop a jump shot, but the raw material is there.
I can’t believe you think The Zags are going to be terrible this season…they are literally in everyone preseason top 15 😂 if anything last season was there down year.
We keep our takes spicy. They were very meh last year. Just think folks have caught up. Like Ike, Nembhard, and Hickman (even Stromer and Gregg) but outside of that not seeing a ton. Could be wrong - especially with St. Mary's losing Mahaney to Uconn. Thanks for watching though. Love talking CBB.
UL failed us hiring Kenny Payne. Nothing on his resume said he should have been a head coach but Kelsey…. It’s refreshing to see an experienced head coach at the helm
Traore is going to be a big piece. He's the best rebounder and arguably the most versatile defender on the team. I also think Scott and Pryor are your starting frontcourt.
Not a UL fan but gotta give Kelsey flowers for putting together on paper a really solid 13 man roster. Kenny Payne's failure as a coach/roster builder/Alum legacy will go down in CBB history as one of the worst hires in sports history.
I'm not worried about Hawkins. If we get him, great..if not we are still deep. Another option with Hawkins if he comes is the possibility that Waterman redshirts so he can play with Khalifa next season as they play great together. Watch some BYU film. Your take on Scott is spot on, imo. Elite athlete, good fundamentals defensively as a young freshmen. He really played well late in the year. Frank Ibe was on some type scholastic scholarship his last few seasons, he may be the one giving up his scholarship for the additional player(s), who knows we might add more than one..Hawkins and another underclassmen or freshman to the class.Kelsey has done a great job mak8ng noise on big name recruits like Osobor and Quaintance while slipping in under the radar with gets like Prior,Waterman, and Routes. It's fun to watch the staff work. Potential line ups are fun.I watched a C of C game in their conference tourament were Kelsey had played 9 guys before the under 16 minute time out to start the game.😉
1. Looking good 2. That would mean we don't get Osobor, and if that's the case Onyenso is a nice fallback. Still think he's going to Oklahoma and will be a starter. 3. Auburn, 99.9% sure.
It’s going to be hard to get Osobor away from his coach. Auburn struggling to get Achor transcripts to work for him to go there. Louisville admissions not as bad.
Rogers? No chance. He's going to be a depth piece who COULD turn into a starter down the road. He was a D2 player who developed nicely, went on to CofC and played really solid, and looks like he could step up but at a lesser role. Just because PK brought him after he played 22 mpg doesn't and shouldn't mean he's a starter. Laughable.
So far I like this guy as our coach. For some reason I feel he will do well and get us back in contention, not like Mr. Rick Pitino had us in the spotlight, but I believe we are in good hands
I'm loving all the flavors that we're getting. I'm hoping to finish out the roster with even more. It's really about winning match ups against the players on your opponents team so the better the mix the better the match. Bring on the BIGS and Go CARDS!
Gotta like the PF/C that is Aboubacar Traore's best friend and teammate from Africa...it is Laasina Traore...rising senior, solid rebounder, can shoot from 10 to 12 feet ..good handle,6'9" 230 pounds.has played with traore since he was 15,except his first season in the USA.
As they should. Of course fit should matter and sometimes that will outweigh financials. But for a lot of them, this is their opportunity to cash in on their skills and abilities.
I was so happy Cal left. I hope they fund a good coach, so the rivalry doesn't get boring. Don't get me wrong, I want the games to be closeish. But I want Louisville to win 10 in a row, so the win loss gap isn't so big.
I watched him at Monmouth a few years back while my brother in law was coaching at Manhattan. Kid is a beast, and really would fit well as an energy big.
If Purdue doesn't blow the super rare 1 vs 16 thing last year, Dusty May doesn't have a Final Four and this whole coaching carousel looks different this year.
My advice is quit listening to people on FB and X who get people excited with fake "insider" knowledge. I wasn't really interested in Scott "Homer" Drew, Dusty May is a bit effeminate, so I feel like we dodged a few bullets here and stumbled upon a great hire. This guy has been a HC for 12 years and has 11 trophies. Not too shabby. He was a great recruiter at Wake Forest and he is definitely full of piss and vinegar. I love the energy that he's going to bring. I think back to when my Rams had a "coaching search" and they hired the first guy they interviewed, some young, hotshot that nobody ever heard of. "Who the heck is Sean McVay?" Best Rams head coach in my lifetime and I just turned 60. If you're a Louisville Fan you need to support our team and give this guy a "LEGITIMATE" shot, because who knows, he might be a future HOF'er for all we know. 🔥Go CARDS!🔥
@@drewconlin9452 So all of a sudden my 50+ years of being a Die Hard Louisville Fan is moot? Yeah, I don't think so. 😆 Scott Drew is the name you're looking for. That's who our AD targeted as our #1 pick. I am glad we didn't get Drew myself and I am definitely happy that we didn't get stuck with Dusty, who realized that he just wasn't man enough to handle the position in the first place. Enjoy your new coach but don't kid yourself thinking that he was Louisville's first choice. He wasn't even top 5.
😊 Michigan fan… we’re intertwined, Pitino almost came here instead we got Amaker and the Beilein and then that great championship game ( according to Pitino) It’s a new era
