I have this idea - to paddle the length of 'my old river' - grew up on Terramia, west of Yantabulla. The timing would need to be pretty meticulous.

I saw a tv documentary of canoeists paddling through flooded Paroo marshland. I thought about trying to organise a group trip, but the logistics and having to work was always a problem. Work is no longer a problem.

Nice Greg 🤙. Apologies if this is a silly question , but are bull sharks any concern when kayaking near a river mouth up that way ?
@gregemslie2223
@gregemslie2223 Год назад
No. They would be around but there are much easier things to catch. Maybe they keep the crocodile numbers down.

The locals told me they catch and release mostly. I would check the restrictions on bag limits and sizes with rangers before keeping any as they seem to vary from time to time.

@@gregemslie2223 Ah that's good to know they are around. They are just beautiful creatures. I do 100% catch and release over here in Hong Kong :)

What a gorgeous place. Saw the floods on the news.. was so devastating in a lot areas. I got to kayak today in Sydney and saw very muddy waters too!
@gregemslie2223
@gregemslie2223 2 года назад
Let the mud settle before you go there. The reflections are brilliant off clear water. Its a pity the gates are only open 7.30am to 5.30pm. The sunrises and sunsets would be cool.
