I'd like to see one pianist lie on top of the lid and plays black keys, and one sit and plays white. Then they switch. What sane pianists would try that?

it's nice, but it was scored for a turntable with actual records. I don't enjoy performances that change this basic theatrical aspect of the piece. It is very important to the aesthetics of this work. I think it might be one of the very first pieces in the west scored for turntable. A computer makes it lifeless.
@genekoshinskimusic
@genekoshinskimusic Месяц назад
@@yvesklein5414 thanks for checking it out. I agree with you from a historical perspective and most of my performances have been with turntable. This particular performance wasn’t. There were two playbacks on the computer here - one for the record and one for the radio, which was a radio interface that allowed you to choose a live radio station anywhere in the world. I typically avoid an actual radio these days as it’s difficult to find working stations and there is too much talking and commercials. As you probably know, Cage explicitly wanted to avoid talk radio or anything of the sort. He wanted music and this gives the best option for that. Cage was so ahead of his time. If he knew what was ahead of him, there’s no doubt he would have used it as much as possible. That’s my take on it. Thanks for checking it out!

Excellent! It's like diving into the world of voiced mathematical formulas and physical laws. I roughly understand how to create such an artistic canvas in an audio program, then learn the result and present it to the public. But if it is initially composed on a musical instrument and recorded on notes, then it is black magic.

Magnificent performance! Bravo and thank you! Too bad for the video. In this type of piece we need to see this impeccable synchronization. It would be better to put the camera in front and never move it. We hear beautiful sounds and rhythms, but we do not see the synchronized gestures. Only jumping images. Magnifique prestation !
