Today is August 31,2024. My father died two years ago today. He loved this song. I remember hearing him sing it when I was a kid. I made sure this song was in rotation at his funeral. 💔I love you Dad. I miss You DEEP!! Forever Daddys Baby!!❤
I saw this performance for the first time when my parents bought me the Crossroads DVD back in '08 or '09. I was 13 years old, learning guitar and had always been passionate about music. This performance, among others, mesmerized me. As a young, confident and talented kid, I tried and tried and tried and tried to set my amp and guitar up to sound like this performance but I could not mimic his touch at that point. Just incredible.
I love this song and I loved Dan Fogelberg. He was and is still one of my favorite songwriters and performers. So talented and we lost him too young but this song is not just about a sunrise. It’s about life changes and like it or not they come and you get to open a new chapter…. It’s going to be a day and there’s really no way to say no to the morning .
