Seeing the 2k erg test sequence gave me flashbacks to my JV crew days in high school. That year I rowed faster every 2k I rowed... It became so mental not wanting to row a slower time... Often I'd finish and lean over and throw up... Ended at 7:04 my fastest row that season. Seeing these guys prep with much bigger stakes made me appreciate it viscerally
I just wonder how much benefit there is to the slight laying back on the pull, rather than a straighter back and quicker strokes? I feel like I'm losing the momentum with the stroke if I try to lay back.
Respect for those blisters, although keep em clean. We used to use surgical spirit when I was rowing. Is that still a thing? God, I miss rowing!! There's nothing like being on the water, early in the morning, boats running nicely, and you have the whole world to yourself. Peace and dynamism at the same time - perfection.
