The jet, the flying with wings extended and tucked, the perfect carrier landings, EVERYTHING was an honor to watch. Amazing plane and pilot. Hope this plane lives forever without a scratch.
That is so cool. We had Tomcats on my Carrier USS Independence CV-62. Used to love watching the Tomcats during flight ops. My job was in CIC and we had an incident with Libya in 1984-1985. They sent two Mig-23's towards our task force and we countered with two Tomcats on CAP. Our pilots were able to lock from more than 20 miles out. The Migs bugged out and RTB.
Beautiful. It's like looking at a bird of prey: sleek, fast, and shaped for maximum functionality, everything designed and built for optimum performance. It's a "thing", but it looks "alive". Very cool.
just pulling you leg mate , yes the wind was a nightmare , and cross wind at that , I dont usually use the dslr for video hence no wind muffler .It will land very slowly though even on a calm day seems to have an inordinate amount of lift . Steve said that there was very little difference in the characteristics with the wings folded too .
