I'm surprised you don't assign your units to teams so you can select them instantly to defend your base. I never use the box select anymore like that. This is crazy though, I've never been able to win a 1v7 against Brutal AI with the soviets, I honestly thought it was impossible because they just don't have any half-way decent defenses like the Allies do with Gi, Guardian Gi, Mirage tanks, and Battle Fortresses. I can 1v7 brutal AI with the allies all day, but Yuri's Revenge expansion really did the Soviets dirty.
Hey, I agree, With the Soviets it is the hardest to win, mainly because of their lack of money (the Allies have a spy, and Yuri has the Grinder) but if you work at it a few times, you will eventually succeed.
@@zoom3000 I forgot about that part too, on official maps it's usually the number one reason for the soviet's falling off in a 1v7 while Yuri and the Allies have those alternatives. They do have the Industrial Plant for discounted vehicles but that doesn't help once the map is picked clean of ore by 15 minutes. lol Watching you here I can one tell one of my problems is I don't utilize Kirov's at all, they can quickly wipe out one or two AI and take the heat off little by little while you focus on turtling and stay alive. I'm about to try some of the stuff I've learned here and see if I can finally make it happen. lol
Yo zoom, when are you going to do Combined Arms mod (OpenRA) campaign? There are some great missions in there and the hard difficulty is actually challenging. Imo one of the best C&C mods out right now, super polished.
Hi, to tell the truth, I have 2 things that prevent me from doing this for now, and I'll be honest with you because you asked. The first one, I don't much prefer mods based on the first games, it really feels very old to me and I don't always enjoy it, even though I grew up on Tiberian Sun, and it's still my favorite game of the whole series. But, this issue is something I can overcome, and I will probably do so in the near future. The second, technically I don't want to play in Full HD resolution, because most people today watch from their mobile phones, and if I play in such a big resolution, people just won't be able to see what's happening in the game. This is one of my main reasons, if you notice, I never play in high resolutions because I also think about who is watching me in the end. I still haven't found a solution for this, but I'll try to ask some good modders I know in the community, how can you still lower the resolution.
@@zoom3000 Combined Arms didn't really feel old timey at all to me, it has all kinds of modern RTS improvements. The Scrin race especially was implemented well. The missions were super tense. As for the resolution, I don't think there's a way to decrease it BUT there are options to increase UI size and decrease camera distance, which looks to be exactly what you want.
Hello, zoom. Can I ask you, doy you make maps for Tiberian Sun like for the Red Alert? If not, can you tell me where I can download a lot of maps for skirmish with 8 players?
Hey. hmm im not sure, but play the game from the cncnet clinet, it have way more maps that a lot of poeple creat. You can edit or build a map by yourself with "finalsun" just google it or select it form the cncnet client. And regarding the maps in Red Alert 2 I say this at every opportunity, because it is important to give the credit to whoever creates the maps. I myself made maybe 10-15% of my maps from scratch. I simply edit the vast majority of the maps, mainly expanding the base to give the AI the opportunity to build a complete base and fulfill its potential, I add some money, some oil facilities, and all kinds of other small improvements. This is the difference when I write in the name of the maps "zoom edition" and not just my name as the creator of the map.
Yea, thats why I start play more and more with the "smart ai mod". I think its way better than the "extra hard ai mod", and in the near future I will upload more and more such videos, it will be interesting!
I like this style of map if im Allied or Yuri but soviets they have alot of draw backs for defense, They have the weakest basic infantry based on raw fire power, Thought they have the strongest Damage dealing Advance defense for the early game ( tesla coil ) but in the late game you need alot of them to remotely match up with Prism towers and Psychic towers plus they need tesla troopers to reach their max potentials and not even tesla tanks can do that, while with Prism towers just place them beside each other their max potential is already unlocked and paired up with anti air almost unstoppable, Psychic towers are ALWAYS On their max potential, Their Anti air is mediocre at best Their siege chopper tho useful can barely out range a prism tank so try to fight V3 and a Magnetron at max range, they don't really have any tactics but just brute force unlike the allies they can Cut the power of entire bases with a single spy, they can send Robot tanks for distractions, While Yuri can just pull a reverse card on you with mind control or genetic manipulation from the mutator. Kirovs are strong but their slow speed makes them a must have to be in groups and yet their high cost can decide how much you can build while siege choppers are Cheap and manueverable however Require alot of micro-managing to keep them alive to be effective. Don't even get me started with their subfaction units, Tesla tanks lose in a 1 on 1 with Rhink tanks Terrorist are just worst than Crazy Ivans which is crazy useless Demo truck need the iron curtain or Chronosphere to be useful, Desolators are freaking infantry that are vunerable to even dogs YES DOGS!. Desolators and tesla tanks i could let them pass because i like them. Another is that they lack a useful gimmick, like the Allies they have Chrono weapons Mirage tanks Prism artillery and defenses Tank drones a tank that gets stronger depending on the infantry inside them and lastly SPIES, Yuri is Mind control, and the soviets? they just spam tanks though their apocalypse may be the strongest tank in the game but 5 prism towers can easily 1 shot an elite Apoc, and a single Yuri clone can render them useless . the only reason why they are so FUCKING OP is because they can use the iron curtain and nuke silo to take care of things that can destroy they easily and then they can destroy the base from the inside, if you dont have that your next best option is V3 rockets and lets be honest, by the time you can build V3 rockets to pair up the apocs you dont even need them. So yeah you need to be a Micro god just to be able to do SHIT with the soviets without Super weapons. I know you just skipped everything and just went down here, dont lie.

Hey, thanx for the support. I thought about it myself, and I have plans to upload some videos in which I talk, not necessarily gameplay, but I can only do that in a certain period of time.
I got frustrated trying to break into the base with land units so I just said fuck it and made 50 phoenixes. They got one bombing run off, half died, did around 70% damage to the pyramid. A second bombing run with ~30 plus ion cannon finished it.
