So, FYI, this model is supposed to be manual. You have hacked it into the more expensive model that electronically moves the dead bolt. I called to get advice since I assumed it was going to move the bolt, but instead, you put your code in and manually the knob. So 😂 I'm just going to use it as designed, but you do you boo.
My dead bolt is only 14 months old and spins freely instead of engaging, with a brand new energizer battery. Absurd that I should have to take it apart like that. I’m going to just buy a brand new one and then return my broken one in the box and get my money back.
We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ru-vid.comUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.
I believe that this just happened to my deadbolt .. I had green lights but the outside deadbolt just went in circles .. luckily I had my key 🔑.. ugh .. thank you from the bottom of my pocket and mind for uploading this video ! You gave me such peace of mind ! It’s 10 pm so I’ll do this tomorrow 🤪You rock !💕
Another save using this video, December 2022. The small part that was out of position is only activated when you use your key to lock the door and disengage use of keypad.
thats not my problem my problem is the electronic cam not fully disengaging after the button stops blinking, but you at least pointed me to the right areas where maybe it needs to be cleaned.
I had a similar problem with my lock. In my situation it was that small bolt and spring that had old lubricant and dirt on it so as to prevent it from retracting when the plastic collar tried to move up. I just cleaned up the bolt, reinserted it and the small spring and now the deadbolt works perfect.
Thank you so much for posting this video. My lock wouldn't work and it started on the day we were leaving on vacation! Your video showed me exactly how to fix it.
YOUR VIDEO WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL. I REALIGNED THE GUTS CONTAINED IN THE OUTSIDE PANEL. WORKS FINE. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR VIDEO GOING INTO DETAIL AND EXPLAINING SLOWLY. THANKS AGAIN.
Also, I called Schlage on the # thats in the manual, it took a long time to connect on this saturday, but they are sending me a NEW B375, the new model. i have the old one limping along for now and I have the key as a backup.
that was my exact issue and your video was perfect...BUT..i put it back together and it worked perfectly, but after testing 2-3 times, the little metal piece moved back to vertical position so i am on hold w SCHLAGE to see if they will send me a newer model. meanwhile im opening up the lock again to move that little piece over to be horizontal.
So...what caused the problem in the first place? I've got 6 of these and 2 had this issue (I'll try and solve it using this method) but a third one is opening by just pressing the SCHLAGE button once...don't need to enter a code. Anyone know how to solve that one?
I’ve had the same issue numerous times. I would take apart the entire lock and adjust the spring and it would work a few times and then stop. But then I change the battery and now it works completely fine!
Thank you! This was exactly my problem with a new lock. I believe the guy that rekeyed it turned the locking screw. When I pulled it apart it was obvious based on your excellent video. 10 minute fix!
I had this same symptom. I took it apart but didn't have the same root cause. I changed the battery and it started working again. Hope this helps someone else.
Mine doesn’t even seem to engaged. I opened it up, cleaned it and put it back. Replaced all the batteries, 3 AA batteries plus the 9 volt. Doesn’t seem to let the power go through. Like the pad is dead. Trying not to replace it since I am planning on selling the place
I had the same issue, fixed it by jiggling the outside knob after I entered the code, must have move something back into place. I just googled around to see what caused this, I'm wondering once it happens, is it going to happen more often?
Shit im taking mine back and getting another one i didn't buy a peoject. I spent money on mine i don't know yall. They owe me one without this. Thanks for the video. A million
My issue was just that the big spring on the right wasn’t pulling up all the way so the pin wasn’t engaging. I have it some wd40 and that seemed to do the trick. Would have never figured it out without your video though! Thanks
Thank you, it wasn't my exact problem but it led me to my problem. Note: My issue was a broken piece of casting metal in preventing the plastic piece from closing
Thanks for this video. I gave you a shout out on my video and a link too this video. My problem was different, but you helped me get started resolving my problem.
I just had a brand new one of these installed and it is doing the same thing. The thumbturn just keeps turning around and around when I put combination in. The locksmiths who have been in business for 50 years are clueless and I now have to wait for a replacement and I only have one door to get into my apt.
