Musical genius. Not fully appreciated in my younger years, though the vinyl was worn out through many spins of In the Court of the Crimson King. Decades later, KC and Jethro Tull remain 2 of my favorite bands.
Watching Bruford and Levin kicking things off with an epic jam is the highlight of this entire performance. Unbelievable playing from two incredible players
Hi Bill. I met you in Houston back in the 1970's with Earth Works and King Crimson. I played bass for Joe Tex for several years and drums for Charlie Helpnistill's band.
That entire time was a HUGE WINDFALL FOR Jon Anderson! He was going w/the CINEMA> YES' 80s w/Trevor Rabin not Howe, et al &! Jon Anderson's phone rang for the ABWH 'pay back ' against Chris for making the richest YES era- ever. He was laughing whenever that was in any interview at the irony of it all. Just by having Jon's voice put out the words & in the credits was a Fan's stamp of Approval as a 'YES' project. He was still complaining when Beato interviewed him around the end of COVID from laptop to laptop. He was going for the One (& the TWO, the THREE,...); Jon Anderson was in it regardless but it's really his & Chris Squire's Band from the first. Steve came in on the 3rd, right? Regardless. Money does weird things to people's minds.
From your bio, you mentioned how Eddie and Allan butted head on the consistencies of solos between gigs and I was eagerly waiting, in this overdubbed performance, if Allan would at least mimic the recording. I don't know if, by "the shortest guitar solo", you meant in a general sense compared to his legendary licks, but this version has been cut and hid most of Allan's actual playing. Problem solved ?
