4:20 if you look at persian side carefully you can see that 2 of them are women dressed like a scythians and one of those that carry a flag is wearing a frigian hat that came frome northen Greece
There is a reason why Greek women were not allowed to serve in the Grecian army. This video portrays why (notice how short she is compared to the men in that formation, this would create a weak point in the phalanx). But in the case of reenactment, this fact would not matter. Just a little bit of factual history and I am in no way being a bigot.
Nice, but I don't think the Athenians, or at least the majority of them would have been wearing Corinthian helmets. Athenians had their own particular helmet.
What type did they have …… statues a vase paintings show Athenian hoplites with Corinthian helmets so it would be interesting to have your point of view and evidence
Probably one of the best recreations of a Greek phalanx I've yet seen! although I'm not sure the 4thC BC Thracian (bearded type) helmet would have been seen on the Battlefield at that time, made famous by the Macedonian army under King Phillip and later Alexander the great. Great vid thanks 👍❤️
I bet these so called reenactment didn’t even researched on how a phalanx works. All that beating around the bush and bullshiting just for a few moments of fucking around. Shoutout the 8 Persians that made an entire phalanx with shields retreat by throwing rocks
