Thanks for posting. Tried testing motor as per your video. Wouldn't work at first so I took off the gear cover and freed up the parking mechanism. Then it ran like a top, two speeds too. PS. do not take apart the motor unless you are a wizard at puzzles. You saved me hundreds of dollars.
That pink Edsel next to the Chevy is the same as mine, Hack. Now you know what i've got sat on my drive after seeing one in person! As for the years, in order of introduction, the white one is a '58, next to that is a '59, and lastly a '60. You can tell by how they started in '58 with the BIG BOLD HORSECOLLAR GRILL and then it faded by the time we got to the '60. Thanks for the video and all the best to you and yours!
Glad I could show you the Edsels! I saw 7 Edsels in just the small part of New Mexico I was in. Just to give you a reference I am about 2000 miles from home.
Might not be a big deal to some, but it's a big deal to you, that's what matters Hack. I can imagine putting them in that same red oxide primer as the rest of the Biscayne, that might help freshen them up a bit, Hack style! Also that's no weight reduction, those are speed holes they make the car go faster. All the best to you and yours, stay safe and take care!
I saw your channel because I was interested in possibly using shine juice in part for my headlight restoration. I haven't found any videos on it but I see that the shine juice works pretty well. I'm not willing to commit to a clear coat but I'm willing to take the risk of messing up my plastic headlights which shine juice. But anyway I see you we're at Ocean City Maryland. When my kids were little we used to go to Ocean City Jersey because it was a dry town and sometimes we would go to Cape May and there was a fairy to Ocean City Maryland but now we live in Georgia by Atlanta and we're a good 4 or 5 hours away from the closest beaches in the Gulf Coast but I hope you had a good time back when this video was made. I am going to subscribe right now
Wish I could get my hands on some of these products over here. Kroil, Aircraft Remover or whatever that stuff's called, cant get it. I've been lucky, only had 2 bolts snap in my car, one was easily replaced, the other is in one of the heads so boy that'll be fun. I've mostly been using a very small butane blowtorch, one of those things chefs use for toasting the surface of things? One of those, then spraying WD 40 or such when hot so the WD 40 cools the metal and then as it contracts the oil gets in to all the cracks and does its business. But man oh man, I wish I had kroil. Thanks for the vid, Hack. All the best to you and yours.
@@thequietestengineIf you message me an address or a post office that you can receive packages I will try to get some to you. I cant promise because of unknown regulations But Ill. try. Either way I will let you know.
"DOES KROIL REALLY WORK THAT GOOD? IS IT WORTH $25 A CAN??" ABSOLUTELY. I've been using it since 1977, when I first became a mechanic. $25 is nothing compared to breaking off a bolt in an engine block. Kroil works.
Appreciate you doing that guy because most people who are going to do it are going to do it just like that Everybody else wanting to put their two cents safety precautions in there about the mask the cars and that I’m sure you already know about that anyway want to say thanks again because that’s exactly what I wanted to see. I have little experience painting, but I probably wouldn’t bother with the mask and I’m probably going to do it outside And I’m probably going to use long stroke for that. And I’ll probably be a good foot away. lol again thank you for getting to the point 🍻
As soon as I saw you whip out the cigar, that got a hefty chuckle from me, Hack. You're absolutely right, lot of people forget that our cars? Someone gave up on them. They were literally waiting for their time in the crusher. We're giving them the second chance others wouldn't give. So let us have a bit of fun with them, try new things, entertain a little bit. If all we do is patch them up the best we can, it keeps them running til maybe we can fix them up a bit more, and a bit more after that, all time they weren't gonna get in a junkyard. I'd love to see some of the shade that was thrown on the last video aimed at the likes of Vice Grip Garage, etc, but they wouldn't do that. Still, it's all views for you! All the best to you and yours, and honestly? Biscayne looks pretty great from where I'm standing..... and with 8 shots of bourbon in my system. Stay safe and stay well, Hack!
My co-worker just used 4-5 cans and resprayed his entire tow truck from white to black in an afternoon. I mean it’s not a show quality paint job by any means but it got the job done better than the old cheap spray cans. For a first time use, I think you did the best you could. Me? I’d have more runs and fisheyes than a morning after fish taco 💩.
Amazing how all these "experts" miss the whole point of this video. #1, I am testing this paint as a novice. #2, I did this video to prove that for a little money you can use this product to improve the look of your project car. #3, I am unapologetically a hack. I mean it's my youtube moniker. I take short cuts, I do stuff the wrong way. There are plenty of youtube channels with real experts. I'm not one. Get over yourselves and have a sense of humor.
You call me buddy, I call you buddy as well, Hack. Wouldn't be making videos without yours and the drive you give me to keep going. Bless you my friend, and hey, you deserve ALL the views. Keep doing what you're doing, and all the very best to you and yours, take care and stay safe.
