Hello Adam, could you please tell me how the module is grounded? What if you apply 24 V on the input terminal and have no DB9 connected? Thanks fro the video, and hopefully the reply :)
At current price of $2000 this looks like a real winner for a minimal system that has great expansion possibilities. I had been looking at Kanardia too, but this seems like it might be nicer, with radio integration etc.
Looks like these videos really help with an overview which is harder to piece together on your website. I'm used to steam gauges, overviews like this could help me have a better idea how to plan if/when I get to build. Just wish there were more current videos like this one... but sounds like they are coming.
Can any of these MGL products be installed under NORSEE as a stand alone additional awareness system in a Standard category plane like a Cessna 172 while of course retaining full functionality of factory gauges?
I've tried to connect MY MX1 to a first generation ATR833 and it did not work for me for two reasons: 1.) the ATR833 1st gen. does not support 8.33 spacing on the serial SL40 protocol which is being used to control the unit. for that reason, it is not possible to dial 8.33 spaced frequencies using the MX1.. also i was only able to pre-select frequencies, then had to use the ATR833 button to switch frequencies. Further more, the COM1 interface remained crossed out on the MX1, so it did not seem to recognize that the COM is actually connected. All this is a ATR833 first gen issue tho. I have since switched to a Trig TY92 and am controlling it over the same serial port and protocol and it works like a charm. F.U.N.K.E stated, that the problem should be resolved with the newer ATR833 versions, sadly there is no upgrade for the old ones to fix this.
You should make another video giving full directions on how to set up all of the functions. Also do a video for troubleshooting. I get a squeal at times and don't know why. Otherwise i do like this radio. Larson Adventures.
Just more cool stuff to complicate your choices before you commit to write the check. A pilots Dream instrument panel is but one more fleeting upgrade away. Good / Gooder / Goodest 😂🤣😅🤩
Hello, i already own a MGL efis + radio setup in my Sakota, but i am thinking in changing to a Christen Eagle. Would you be so kind to send me a link to a picture or video of the pilots seat setup of this efis ? Thank you very much.
Can the MGL efis' come with a remote AHARS so the magnetometer can be installed in the wing? I was just wondering how the set-up would work in something like a Kitfox that has a steel frame.
Good on you for releasing the V6 with knobs! I'll certainly be buying one in less than 8 months from today. Can I get a better price though your company directly (say, compared to the retail price at Aircraft Spruce)? Thanks! :)
Yes, you get used to the buttons pretty quickly. And of course, if you connect the radio to an EFIS, you get to use the EFIS keypad or set frequency directly from the airports database. Yes, the radio will accept an aux/music input.
Looks very interesting. I'd like to replace my ICOM A200 (weight, size) with this. Would prefer a knob instead of the up/down keys though. Is there an option for an extra AUX/Music input for the intercom?
