Fun fact for any fans of Jim Jeffries who know the story about when he got robbed at knifepoint in his Manchester home - Steve was his housemate and comics Dan Nightingale and Monty Burns were there getting high with Jim and Steve right up until shortly before the robbers turned up.
You can watch a bunch of fresh podcasts I did with Steve on my channel. Seriously. We did heaps in the last year. Hoping to do more soon. Check ‘em out.
The things about people complaining about cancel culture is that they always think people are "offended". We're not offended! We think you're cunts. Hope that helps:)
6:14 Smooth and tight like a what? I've watched this bit like fifty times without ever understanding that word. English is not my first language so I'm either mishearing it or it's a cultural reference I'm unaware of. Any kind soul that could help me add one more steve hughes joke to my archives?
It always amuses me all the right wing conservatives that cheer Steve for his definition of political correctness, not realizing that PC culture was created by far right christian conservatives in response to the rebellion of churches mores in modern society.
As a masculine gay man let me just say the days of gay men being victims are pretty much OVER. You hit us? We hit back times three. And some of us will finish the job. 😈 But Steve NAILED IT when he implied true masculinity and strength is being able to take a 🍌 up the 🍑. Carry on, Steve! 😜
I’ve watched him do this bit a few times now but here it works best because he sets it up by somewhat siding with his homophobe “friends”. It creates tension. Some audience members simply laughing at words like “poofters” while the rest feel awkward wondering where he’s going. I actually think it’s about as perfect as a joke gets. “They fuck men”. Spins the narrative instantly whilst making a very astute observation that questions cultural perception.
