This needs more holes. I am thinking about drilling more holes to get more flow into the cup. I also notice that I can not leave the cup in the tank as it starts to get a film on top and the cup gets nasty over 2 or 3 days. I would like to just leave it in the tank but the flow into the cup is not great....unless you have something pointed right at it.
I set it up here in the Max Nano XL, and it is dead silent in terms of water noise. Literally none! The motor makes a typical motor sound when it kicks on, but it's brief and infrequent.
@@ThomasBReef Sounds promising. Have my tank near the bedroom and my girlfriend can hear a mouse fart one town away so noisy aquarium equipment means lots of nagging. Fed up with filter socks so think this will be the next equipment buy👍
Not everyone needs a stand, lots of us have solid wood dressers! 😉 I literally sold my TV to make room for my IM Nuvo 20 because it’s 100x more entertaining than any of the nonsense on air now anyways.
Should i do water changes, when i contact saltwater aquarium dealers here in India they have informed me that the saltwater aquarium doesn't need any water change and the only thing to do is auto top off of evaporated water, please help im planning to buy an aquarium
Oh no, on 2nd to last episode in this series and I'm sad! Love you Matthew! I'll be re-watching from the first episode since I just got my Waterbox 175.6 (117 gal display tank) delivered. It know it's a lot bigger than what you recommend for a beginner, so I'm a bit nervous. I bit the bullet on the size because I absolutely must have a Blue Hippo Tang one day and would rather not have to upgrade. However, I'm not a complete newbie, coming from a 55 gal freshwater in my own home and I used to work at local aquarium as an aquarist aide with a marine bio degree (hence my username). But this will be my first saltwater aquarium in my own home so this has been super educational (especially everything about corals). THANK YOU!
Awesome video! If I have bought a tank that was already set up for a few months but now has sat dry for a period of time would it still have all of the beneficial bacteria or would they be dead since there is not any water?
It made me smile to see you have a video about Clarkii! 😊 I have a single Clarkii clown about 3-4 inches in length in my tank. Intelligent and beautiful fish. I'm now investing in anemones for him/her. I've had my saltwater aquarium just about 2 years now and I've learned a lot in taking care of it from your channel. Thank you for the quality content. It's exciting to see you now have livestock on your site too. wish you the best!
I would say that the thing which has changed the game more than anything else is ChatGPT since it’s so easy to get fast answers to your exact reef tank questions
Recently aet up and started an 80. Gal. Cube. Tried Jake Adams way. Staryed by cooking marco rock for 3 months in big tupperware with pumps in dark garage added a new bacteria every 7 to 10 days. Started with live sand and a few lps corals and copepods and some new bacteria 1wk later added 4 amall clowns. Had no ammonia spike low nitrates and low phosphates. Tank has been runnjing since just after July 4th. Tank is doing fine. Have added tomini tang and wrasse plenty of cuc. Have add popds weekly small bottle feeding live brine and frozen mysis. I think more people have nitrate problems by adding too many fish at first and overfeeding with flake or pellet😊
So no discussion off PAR for different types of coral. No discussion of spot vs flood. "Call us we will tell you what to buy." About ready to bag this series.
Because the hobby has consolidated to one or two online retailers and the margins are much better on high end gear. Good luck on an economical beginner build, unless you have a good marine LFS close by. This series turned into a bait and switch in my opinion.
Hi. I’ve got a hydra 32 over a 32 gallon cube, @ BRS recommended height of 14”. Looking for settings for LPS and Zoas. I’m running a schedule provided by my fish guy. Think it might be too hot. Any recommendations?
