Hi, I’m a student and I’m working on a project involving pervious concrete. Could you please share your 3D model of pervious concrete for educational purposes? It would greatly aid in my research. Thank you!
In yours topic we can see sustainability as urban echology to achieve the objektive of maintence of natural balance, the project of enviromental equlibria. The use of pervious concrete pavement is significantly increasing due to reduction of roud runoff and absortion of noise. I will add that pervious concrete is usually used in north of Iran because of heavy rainfalls in these regions and also its enviromental benefits such as controlling runoff, restoring groundwater supplies and finally reduction UNDERGROUND POLUTION that is topi of 21th century. Pervious concrete has ACUSTIC properties due to its HIGH POROSITY that REDUCE NOISE POLLUTION. High penetration velocity of water into pervious concrete is has led into using this kind of pavement in other cases such as HYDRAULIC STRUCTURES, GREEN BUILDING AND AS A BASED COURSE OF HEAVY TRAFFIC PAVEMENTS. Good luck!
This looks great but how resistant is it to wear and tear? All concrete breaks down, it’s as inevitable as death and taxes. This looks like it’d break down within a month of cars continuously driving over it. Maybe if it was people and bikes or at most a horse it’d survive longer, but I don’t think this is the future for roads.
Hold up your putting in pipes and brick like hello thirsty concrete no brick needed. Also why cant we do the same with roads thirsty cement can help you do that.
Being in the industry for 15 years I can tell you Oaks products are the best. I also have other friends in the industry who also agree with me. Although we respectfully let our customers decide what manufacturer to use and is our job to give them as many options as possible I always recommend Oaks products. I have no connection to Oaks but just wanted to share my thoughts.
You realize that the whole purpose of this design is to NOT poison the local water source by having the water filtered through layers of rock and soil before it makes its way back down to water levels, right?
I work in site maintenance and permeable paving and driveway. Are an absolute nightmare 100% headache to keep clean. The stone in-between the blocks clogs up after 6 months driveway and paving are holding standing water. But the water will subside when the weeds and moss start growing and they will because they will have plenty of water. Leaving your driveway or paving looking horrible. If you park vehicles on this stuff you will end up with two groves where the vehicle has been sitting. How to maintain you ask. You cannot jet wash you will blow all the small chippings out and loosen the blocks themselves. You cannot use a narrow edge scraper because you just pull all the stones out. Someone has to get there hands a knees and pull the weeds out individually this is expensive to the client and when that's done see you in about two months. It is not a attack on this company. But permeable paving doesn't work
thats why you use a geo grid in between the 3/4 stone and the sub base, it prevents ruts from vechicle, fabric should be laid against any other sides that the gravel will contact (think the sides where the gravel meets the native soil), after that resin sand can be used or mortar sand for the joints, (resin > polymeric).
Hi Alliana. It would be great if you want to use this video in a school project. You should be able to just use this video or parts of off of RU-vid. Email us marketing@oakspavers.com if you need further support. Good luck with school!
The permeability rate is upon the material of the permeable bricks, diameter of the graves and etc, but the video only referred to the permeability, actually we can pave the polymer concrete drainage kerbs to discharge the rainwater fast as well. Permeability and fast discharge are very important. Also can install the rainwater harvest module to storage the rainwater.
