I have a question... if you use say PO-101 which has a downlink on 145 and the switch to a satellite that has a 43x download is sat PC switching properly for you? for me the RX(top) vfo stays in the145 band
Dat noise floor, daaaang! Soooo jealous! Can't even fathom having a zero noise floor on VHF like that... (Mine is always +5 or worse, sadly.) Also, my com port is also the higher, not the lower. Not surprising considering how windows assigns com ports.
Hi. One year has passed since the video was published. Do you still use this GDP SO? Does this Chinese GPS DO provide sufficient stability for digital modes at 23 cm band? It looks like there is another solution offered by Leo Bodnar. I'm trying to decide for myself if Chinese GPS DO is sufficient or not.
Is it indeed still possible to work with an IC-9700 without extra low pass the SO-50 in its current state, ie full duplex? The SO-50 provides self desensing so that (extra) desense filtering offers little help here and extra low pass will be the solution. 73 Leo.
Couple of questions! Are you antenna(s) fixed elevation for this? Does having elevation control help? (I have an EME station, with elevation control) How did you go about getting your 9700 to mirror on a computer screen? I love it.
Thanks for posting. Im seriously considering getting a 9700 for sats and eme. Btw, I recognize several of those call signs. Worked quite a few of them. K7AXA.
to me the value in the 9700 vs the 705 which does 2m/70cm is the satellite operation available in the 9700. This video is extremly useful for those undecided on about what features and functions the 9700 will bring as compared to the IC series.
Did you Compare the IC-9700 to Other Radio's, what lead you to this one....I like it but I am concerned about the drift and keep hoping Icom will fix it so I feel better about a Purchase. Thank You so Much for the Video. A note I have noticed the computer controlled Doppler, where both frequencies changed at the same time, why was this bird different ?
well after 2 hours of trying to get my A2h address in with NO success i found you video and BoOoM got it within 5 mins cheers mate your a star , now to try to get the 5500 linked to it lol
Did you add the GPS lock to your 9700? Thinking about getting one and have heard the 9700 has freq drift issues, esp on digital. Been running ms on 6 meters for a while.
Most everyone I know who work the Satellites are looking for the grid squares not the states. Just my observation and it’s always what I give and look for.
Thank you for the video Daniel. My question is? Do I need to change my CI-V address from A2h to 94h? Kinda new at this and I'm not very computer savoy The John K KB4SGA
Thanks for doing this video. I'm in the process of researching setting up a GPSDO 10MHz reference for my 9700 and it would be amiss of me not to bring the following to your attention. According to page 13-3 of the Basic Manual, -10dBm (approx) is the stated input level for the 10MHz ref. 73 from VK land.
gday.. why are your rig settings on ic9100? the 9700 setting works gr8. Just up/dwn arrow to get the $(address) , change the cat>intervals to 10 , to make it track faster. The tx portion is best on a quick doppler shift. Thats my opinion. The satpc32 works great ... can i see your antenna setup? Im curious about the amsat tracker box..(more info on that please?) Thanks gr8 video.
Would you recommend the Green Heron controller since it doesn’t directly work with satpc32? The GH controller is really two controllers in one box, unlike other options.
Great video. I am just getting started in meteor scatter myself. How do u know where to turn your antenna? I also have the 9700 but have not tried 2 meters yet
Hi. You seem to have a very high noise level. I have no noise with my IC9700 and two M2 beams and 2 pre-amps at the antennas. I need no noise to work the linear sats when signals are very weak. Pre Amps were manufactured in the UK. ve4mm
No prob, I already have a video up doing MSK144! I'm running 2x2m12's at 70'+ and 500w now. I've changed the setup a little since the video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rrLVC0jHYEI.html
He could use a ClearSpeech DSP speaker or base module.I use one of them on every radio I use including my ICOM 7600, ICOM 910H,& ICOM 821H.I Hate noise and I can open the squelch on FM or SSB and the noise is not an issue for me.I listen to voices not noise.I would have thought the DSP would be much better in that radio but maybe he does not know how to use it?
