Thank you for this video! It takes me back to the days in ‘82-‘83 when we’d go dancing at the 18+ clubs on Hollywood Blvd and have a 2 am breakfast at the Denny’s on Sunset afterward before heading home!
Even though I've been indifferent about Captain Sulu in the past, I've come to highly respect him. What he said was absolutely true. And it's not just that, but he has a great style as Captain.
This reminds me of David Lynch's 1984 production of Dune...Another imperfect version of a masterpiece...both flawed movies...with a lot of interesting things in them...
Bakshi should have gone back and done a "Special Edition" like Lucas did with Star Wars...and ironed out some of the kinks from the original film...like the whole "Saruman" vs "Aruman" thing...maybe fleshed out the ending so it wouldn't be so abrupt...
The way Sulu dressed down Tuvok is exactly the reason I loved his character of captain of the Excelsior. 😂. And then he replies with a defiant, “Helm! Engage!!”
Takei, guy who hates Shatner. Meanwhile he would be almost completely unknown if it wasn’t for Shatner’s popularity in Star Trek. Cracks me up when complains.
For some reason this song pops into my head most of my life. But no one seems to remember it. I guess it was obscure, but I remember liking it when it showed on MTV. Ahhh the good ol' days.
I need some Austrian loving I know what it means I better start climbing For the dopest flower on the top of the mountain I know what you want They don't grow the ground Hiking up North like Cooly C You see eye to eye We're picking the one and only flower that shows love As you look into my eyes So we can show it with Edelweiss
Glad to hear Monte is still sticking it to the men, by the way landed way before Alien Sex Fiend. Check this dude out, especially connection to Industrial Records
I've always found it funny how tuvok just repeated the exact same things he said in the past to Sulu and his old crewmates, even though he could've had fun with the past by doing different things.
Imagine - just imagine for one moment - if the JJ Abrams reboot of Star Trek had focused on Captain Hikaru Sulu, continuing the prime timeline and NOT going back and erasing it. You could have the entire prime timeline filled in from Kirk's (first) death aboard the maiden voyage of Enterprise-B, under Captain John Harriman, a contemporary of Capt. Sulu in command of the Excelsior, the original ship class for which the Enterprise-B was designed, you can even have a young Tuvok aboard Capt. Sulu's Excelsior. You could lead right up to the point in the timeline where the Enterprise-C was launched. You could even show the design schematics or even the hull being laid for the Enterprise-D in the final show. It would have been SO epic compared to what we got.
I wonder if Captain Sulu let Rand's relieving of Tuvok stand. It seems like it, because Captain Sulu never said anything to the contrary. But I hope not, because it'd have been a blow to Tuvok's service record. True, however, that Tuvok should know when to let it drop. He'd made his objection and it was noted. What was he thinking, pushing it? He's just an Ensign then. It's like the mistake Lt. Cmndr. Galloway made about objecting to the Doctor's testimony in the movie "A Few Good Men." Mentioning it once can be useful, but keeping after it can easily backfire. You've got to know when to back off, folks.
The 80'S was an amazing decade for music and fashion in Manchester. But also some strange songs popped up now and again. When I was doing band practice, our bass guitarist suggested we used this song,I nearly walked out.
