Can anyone tell me what was being harvested in the first clip? I’m a Canadian prairies guy who’s pretty familiar with most mechanized processes used for growing and processing grains, oilseeds, pulse crops, and hay and silage for animal feeds, but this equipment is new to me- looks like it’s something like a swather, but for some reason is lay in the crop down oriented neatly at 90 degrees to the travel of the machine, with heads all at one end? My best guess is that maybe this is flax being harvested specifically for linen fibre, rather than for flaxseed?
