To all Maintenance and Reliability Professionals, YOU are in the right place if you want to learn how to get the most out of Power BI to quickly build truly effective maintenance and reliability dashboards and reports
This channel is built specifically for maintenance and reliability professionals who are looking to learn how to use PowerBI to build reports and dashboards to display, interact with and unlock insights within your maintenance and reliability data. No matter if you are a beginner or are further up the PowerBI learning curve this channel has something for you
The videos you'll have access to in this channel will focus on explaining how to define the common maintenance and reliability KPIs such as work order backlog, work order workflow measures, mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), maintenance costs and much more. It'll also use case studies & quick tips the help you get the most out of Power BI's powerful features - Enjoy!
Hey Jason, thanks for this amazing content, can you tell us more about the actualisation of the goals ? when it's going to check the new value ? for my case, i have a directquery data set and the matrix is added new values every 30mn, will the goal change or not ?
thanks for the video. i wonder is it possible to add extra column to the matrix where values are difference between 1 column of the matrix - 2 column of the matrix (MoM = last month - previous month for all measures)?
Hi Jason, I tried your method but instead of formatting to html table, I created a csv table and email it. There is a 500 rows limitation, is there any way to export without limitation?
Hi, you could try modifying the code that was copied from the query in Power BI desktop into the the Power Automate action to run a query against a dataset. Look for a TOPN statement. Power BI probably set this to 500. You can change this to a different figure. That should help hopefully. Let me know how you get on. 🙂
Thanks. it is helpful. I've 2 soubts. 1. What if i select an row in table. Will slicer get filtered? 2. What if i add any category/discipline/station slicers at top and use the.. will it filter risk slicer?
can it be trigered by an update from powerBI tables, automatically ? so we dont have to click a button if we want to update the table in excel online ?
Excellent and easy to follow - very impressive stuff which I'm going to try out at my place of work as we use heatmaps on our reports but they are static. Thanks 🙂
Amazing idea to use metrics as a navigation page! Nevertheless, if you prefer to bundle copies of reports in the site manager's app, this is not that much of a maintenance nightmare: You can either use a REST API and a deployment script to deploy to two workspaces or you can set up a watchdog process that, once a new version is published in the report's main workspaces it is copied to the site managers workspace. For this approach, I'd recommend to use live connected reports so that you don't create copies of the data. Since you need Power BI deployment pipelines to automate the update of the app and you need Premium license for deployment pipelines, that may be the solution for larger organizations. But I think, for many use cases I like your metrics approach more anyway.
Interesting video. I'm new to Power BI. What's the benefit of creating an app for, in your example, the Site Manager, rather than simply giving them access to the Site Manager workspace and filling the workspace with the reports/scorecards/etc relating to the Site Manager?
Definitely use an app. They offer loafs of additional options for end users to make is easier for them to access reports. Sorry I don't have time for a more comprehensive answer but do a bit of Googling to find out what the options are because it's defo a better option. Plus if you have added the reports to the workspace it's just clicking a few buttons to publish the app.
There are penty of videos talking about the Conccepts you should take into consideration when creating a Risk Management Dashboard. But almost none of the actuall show an exampe. That is great.
Great video I want to do the same project but I want to make a scheduled daily refresh of the report and I want it to send an email daily after each refresh. With the report content included in the email
Very informative. Can you share a video which will explain the different Bookmark Settings and how and when to use them? If you already have created one, can you share the link?
This training is such a miracle! I really appreciate your video, you are my hero! The only subject I wish you covered is about formating the "Date" which is a common problem.
Thank you for the video. One question - instead of a value in a card visual, can the alert be generated based on a value in a table visual? Meaning if some of the values in a particular column have breached the threshold value
I am getting an extra grid when selecting the post mitigation column. So ideally it is a 5 by 5 matrix but an extra grid in the row is making it a 6 by 5 matrix. Any solution to this problem? Thanks!
Off the top of my head it could be a few things. 1.) You have a blank value for a risk ranking. 2.) Your have 26 unique values, instead of 25. In the values assigned to each work order. Hope that points you in the right direction.
