Excellent recipe!! Followed it exactly, and they turned out delicious! I used gloves when making and rolling the dough out, and when pinching the buns closed I dipped my fingers in flour which made it much easier to seal/not stick to my hands. Anyways, thanks so much for the great video, my husband is from Xi'an and he was so happy I made them 😊
I have a rice cooker with a porridge setting. If I add minced pork near the end of the cooking cycle do you think it will work? Or should I cook the pork separately and add to the congee after it is done cooking?
I tried this one last night. I liked how easy it was to put together, especially for a week day meal. I never really think of tomatoes when I think chinese food, but I liked it. Thank you for your videos!
I guess this is a great base for me to try, and just add anything I can think that would make it taste good? Like diced ginger, garlic, maybe some meat etc?
@@Kpher You can keep the congee at room temperature for 2-3 hours. After that, it can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or put in the freezer for up to a month!
I remember my older sister ordering some on a cold fall day. They had chunks of braised beef, and she added garlic chili oil with it. OMG I fell in love with that congee. Thanks for sharing, I have to make some myself.
