Hi Olivia! I studied data analytics with the intent to go into coding but upon discovery, I'm finding product might be a better fit for me. I have no training in it but your videos are helping me transition to it! Thank you!
Im from Ukraine, have 15+ of product ownership experience with diff international companies, came to the US, cannot find a job here. Maybe you could make a video of job searchings.
Hi Olivia. I have an interview for an Associate Product Owner role on Wednesday. I am nervous and feel like I am not well prepared for it. I had an interview with the recruiter, then with the hiring manager. This one will be a panel interview with two senior product owners. I will really appreciate any advice and tips to ace my interview
Hey Olivia, thanks for sharing this content. It was very insightful. Hope in the next video you share the answers also. One more thing, please make some video on how newly graduate can prepare for PM.
I really enjoyed your video, I hope to see more PM, PO content from you. Just a few suggestions, maybe you can use sort of small microphone because the audio level is really low
7:03 when you say you ty to schedule back to back meetings, how many meetings a day and which job titles are in this meeting, it sounds like you are in a way higher ranking since you are the one scheduling these instead of them? 2. why not do the tasks first and meetings after? 3. why not do meetings every other hour to then work on the tasks for at least an hour? 4. are there meetings more important than others that eventually have to come first in the morning where the others can wait til late afternoons?
4:56 The meetings that are not as important as you said here, do you still attend them, or do you sit there listening to the others as you work on your tasks? Can you give five examples of these meetings that are not so important and which job titles are attending these meetings? #road2PO
You can multitask some meetings. I multitask meetings on releases because all teams are there and I will only be called on once. Meetings on production support same. Executive monthly where we present our deliveries because I get 4 mins out of 90. But ceremonial agile meets and requirement gathering/defining I have to be present 100%
0:35 i thought only SM does the daily scrum meeting with the dev team? and it sounds like your talking to one person, or was there more, what position title was this person? 3. do you do this daily scrum team meeting daily?
Hey RU-vid Recommended me your video and you are actually doing great, your content is very helpful. Btw,I was wandering that do you guys need a video editor and thumbnail designer who specifically in informative content? Is this something you are considering ? LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO SEE MY WORK SAMPLES If not ,reply with no ,I will remove you from my follow up list. Cheers -Moiz
BAs are the natural fit for product owners. You need scrum/agile experience as you will lead a team that consists of an IA, designer, engineer, tech lead, scrum master, developers and qas. For me was very easy transition to make but I was senior ba with a lot of qa and pm experience.
Hi Olivia, thanks for this good video, information tips & tricks. I want to ask you about your market preference. Did not you consider to work in US as a APO because the market is higher and the opportunities are so much more than Toronto ? Additionally, I am currently working on Türkiye as a Product Owner with the experience of 3 years. I have changed my company and transferred to an automobile firm. I am interested in Fintech and Mobile Product Ownership. My mid-term plan is working on one of top firms in Germany or London as a Product Owner. What do you want to say to me as an advice ?
Hi Ahmet, working in the US would be nice and there are indeed more job opportunities and higher pays. To answer your second question, Germany would be good for working in Automobile industry and London is a financial center so it sounds promising to get into Fintech there! Just my own opinion though. Also, be cautious on the companies you apply. Given the economy is unstable, there could still be organizational resturcturing in the next year.
Hi Olivia i have been in development switching to management can you guide what would be more appropriate product manager or project manager. Also my executive MBA will be completed in 2024 June.
Hi there, I think what will be more challenging for a person transferring from development to product are organization, communication (leadership skills), stakeholder management and business vision. Try technical product manager roles first and hone the skills I mentioned.
