On average how much was spent for the finished product? I have an old cotton trailer that was used as a chicken coop. I would like to take that down since it’s old and rotten and build a tiny home! TIA 😀

No - Once everything is installed correctly, as he demonstrated, you never have to touch any breakers in you home circuit breaker box when the power goes out. All you have to do is flip the switch from "Line" to "Gen" in your transfer switch box. When the power is restored in your area, you will have to go switch them back to "Line".
HELP! Hi there. I just installed the lycan 5000 tiny house system. Everything worked great until i plugged in the 8 solar panels shipped with the kit. As soon as I flipped the breaker there was loud popping and then smoke came out from where the solar array breaker switch is located. Now it's just dead and batteries are solid red. What happened?
You can hold the rotate tool to an axis by pressing on the arrow key -- up for blue, left for green, right for red, and down for align (fuchsia). You can copy objects by selecting them and switch to the move function, then press on the CTRL key, which then shows a + sign in the screen.
Nice job! Some important questions: How did you attach the subfloor to the trailer? Only nails holding the walls down to the floor? No bolts? It’s a structure that’s supposed to travel.
The kick plates are called sill or mud plates, then top plates on the vertical common studs. The mud plates should be pressure treated lumber on the sub in case of water breakage or flood out. Your header fab for doors and windows are correct. NEVER LAY THEM FLAT!! A 4x4 is even better, It matches same size as 2x4s and gives extra strength. Another thing that burns my behind. Fire blocking between the vertical commons?? Two reasons for fire blocking, yes this is one. The other is it gives your walls extra strength from folding or buckling. Sorry. Old school. I am a retired Navy Builder SEABEE. I went through Basic old school construction methods in Gulfport, MS in 1976 for eight weeks. It costs a little more time and money, but the finish is much better, and sound. A good GC (Builder) runs a project. He or she has to know the basics of other trades as well. Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Excavation and Equipment Operations. Just sharing some professional input. Your units look great! I come from Tampa Bay area too. Grant Park, Robles Park. My dad was not that great at staying stationary. My last years before military were Gib Town and Riverview. I live in Navarre FL now. Been here 14 yrs. You ever modify a 15' x 75'- 98' Fleetwood Mobile home in half? Two stationary tiny homes with a center Sunroom? She is in great shape. Sally tore a hole in roof in master. Still haven't tore out the moldy rock. Been covered with billboard canvas. Great stuff. I can't fix yet, the rain shorted out my third hot water heater. Caught on fire. Haaa haaa! I have a brand new Reem sitting here in LR, just can't trust help to mount it. Thanks for alarms and extinguishers. I am also an amputee from crappy services help from MS VA. in 2011. Anyway-- HAVE A MERRY XMAS AND NEW YEARS. PEACE
To cut my electric bill is it possible to run the Lycan simultaneously with grid power ? Have say 6 circuits connected to transfer switch, the unit is being charged via ac from grid and or solar.
@@jamesmatt-ms4eb yes, you can use a transfer switch to decide what loads you want to run off the Lycan and which ones you want to run off the grid. I wouldn't use the grid to charge the Lycan in this situation as it would defeat the purpose. Use solar panels instead.
@@jamesmatt-ms4eb if you are recharging from the grid, in most cases you wouldn't save any money. However, some utility companies provide better rates at night (to encourage people to charge their cars when there is less load on the grid). So you could save money that way or with solar.
Not really looking to save it’s more about reliability. I travel so being home to move solar panels around is not always possible. Just want to be able to use this generator plugged into the transfer switch with 2 of the circuits(sump pumps)switched to generator. If I lose power the generator would power those circuits. When the power comes back on the ac input on the generator would recharge the battery and keep the pumps running also. I guess they call that “power through charging”. Is this unit capable of such ? Thank you
What is the length and with of the trailer? What is the height, length and weight of the tiny house to be attached? What type of truck can reasonable accommodate this type of hauling?
This is a 24' trailer. The trailer is also 96" wide, which matches the width of the framing. The total width of the house ended up being 102". You would need an f350 class truck to tow this.
I have solar tied into the grid (solar credits...yay), but I'm looking into my best options for having a battery backup -- I feel like this setup is exactly what I need, but wanted to make sure I wasn't considering something. This would tie into our box in the basement, whereas our solar system is basically outside of that (feeding into the grid and turning off in a power outage).
