Yeah I guess the first one might be classed as Leith Hill. We parked in the Landslip car park and pedalled over to Redlands from there. As you pull in to that car park there’s a sharp climb up to the left, the first trail is off the top on the left. We then had to climb back up to join the Summer Lightning trail over towards Redlands. The next trail was between the end of that trail and the cafe/pub in the village. I think it’s two trails “Peashooter” and “Spud gun”
We parked in the landslip carpark on Leith side this time but there is a little lay-by a bit closer to the trails here I think maps.app.goo.gl/KmT5GbeTXXzaK2DX8?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy from here head up the hill until you see a trail on the right and pedal up for 1/2 mile or so there is a few trails off the top. As for the rest 🤷♂️ I don’t know them well enough to give any more directions.
They are nice trails. They might even be my favourite trails in the Surrey Hills at the moment although they may be a bit sketchy in the moist conditions at the moment. Go careful.
@@Moosemears Will do mate ta. I'm just getting back into the sport after a lengthy lay off pursuing other sports. That looks like the perfect place to begin for me I'd say. You local to the area then? No of any whatsapp groups I can join for group rides?
@@highentropy2468 Not local I live down in Southampton but the Surrey Hills are the closest decent trails to me. Join the “Forest Chumps” face book page for group rides in the area.
We park here as a lot of the trails finish just opposite. Come out of the carpark, turn left along the road after a few hundred yards there’s a chalk path on your right. Head all the way to the top and you’ll come out on a large grassy area. Cross this to the tree line on the far side from you and the trails are down into the trees from there. They are spaced out along the tree line. maps.app.goo.gl/bUbtxkC7gziYfA7b8?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy
😁 I’ve been away three times. Morzine for four days riding, Livigno for three days riding then this latest time away was a road trip for two weeks. I rode four times. A single track loop in Germany, Solden, Petzen and then Innsbruck. I’ve been lucky to go away with my bike so many times this year. I’m not sure I’ll ever get the chance to have so many trips in one year again.
Its almost midnight, I am tired, wanna sleep, but when I turned your video on I didnt want to turn it of. Made it full screen and enjoyed the ride. I miss singles like this. Natural, rooty, rocky. It did become a bit climby from 13th minute onward :D Would need to work hard there on analog bike, as you said. Jealous is not the word :) Will have to visit this one
Thanks mate. It’s a cool little trail. I struggled to find the start, if I hadn’t have met up with the other two fellas I probably would’ve given up but I’ve realised on the Solden website they have the “what three words” for each trail. That would’ve made it easier. It’s well worth a trip there’s quite a few of those natural single tracks.
Is it all still clearly signposted? We did the beast in 2019, and we’re going back this weekend. The official page doesn’t list the beast or MBR anymore
@@Moosemears I can imagine. We’re not on e-bikes and if I remember it took us a good 4.5 hours. Looking forward to it though. Your video made bits look fermiliar.
@davidreed9767 Fair play. I might’ve got round it on an analogue bike a few years ago but not now. I’m too old and fat. From what I’m told the MBR trail is probably the better one to do as it has all the good sections of the beast without all the fire road climbs 🤷♂️
Been hunting for the trail around 9 mins and the road gap just before? Any chance you could point me in the right direction? Such good riding round there!
The trail at 9mins is called “Night Watchman” and the jumps are on “Jonah Loamu” I can’t help you with where they are though. My navigational skills are absolute shite around Tunnel Hill. I always have to have someone show me round there. Best advice I can offer is to ask someone once you’re there. Sorry.
@@Moosemears didn't even know they had names so still helpful, thanks! Found them now, last time I went that way the gate was closed, turns out they're easy to find when the army actually let you in!
Fair play to you! I had a massive crash last year at my local tables, front tyre exploded on impact, broke collarbone, broke 5 ribs, and had a brain bleed, was out cold, had to be choppered to the hospital, helmet split but held together,it saved my life! I will never jump again,im staying on the ground! Stay safe,if in doubt, bale out! 🤙
I didn’t even attempt that trail he came of on. It’s billed as the steepest trail there and it was wet and greasy. If he didn’t make it down I’d have been in real trouble.
Another great video Mr Moose, ive never heard someone moan like your no2 on cam but in a funny way have me laughing, which I need at the moment as ive broke my ankle in the Peak District on my ebb
He’s always mumbling something 🤣 Oh no a broken ankle doesn’t sound good. I’ve been there but got there in a different way, I high sided myself off my GSXR600 at Cadwell park many moons ago. 🤞 you heal quick.
Defo didn’t mean it. I just had a sad on because I was so knackered 🤣 albeit I have to say, if I was to go back I wouldn’t do “The Beast” apparently the MBR trail has all the good bits without the endless fire road climbs.
