Tuff Coat™ is a single component, flexible, water-based non-skid coating created through a unique process of cross-linking urethanes, acrylics, co-polymers and recycled rubber granules to create a long-lasting non-slip finish.
Tuff Coat’s flexible matte finish dries to 30-35 mils of thickness creating a finish that hides significant imperfections on all surfaces as well as improves existing non-skid finishes to provide additional safety. This product is odorless and should be applied with a Tuff Coat roller or low-pressure hopper spray gun.
5-7 years with regular maintenance. After that, just clean with Tuff Coat UT-15 Cleaner/Degreaser, Prime with UT-80 Adhesion Primer and then recoat with Tuff Coat.
You don't know how long I've been looking for this type of video. Been wanting to resurface my driveway with this stuff and thanks for the tips to get this done. How long does it need to dry before you can drive on it?
I don't understand why you are putting primer over tuff coat that has been there a few years but you don't put the primer after you wait 48 hours to put the 2nd layer on . Once the rubber has set up what's the difference in one year and and few days to reapply ?
At :17 you said concrete, wood , fiberglass and previously coated surfaces when you say previously coated do you mean surfaces coated with tuff coat or are you talking about say a ranger boat what has a clear coat with metal flake pain under it . I want to pain tuff coat over my faded metal flake paint job that was put on my ranger when the boat was made .
I have just ordered a kit with the primer and Tuff Coat. On the inner hull it has been painting years before I got it. The paint isn't pealing , I haven't wire brushed , sanded , or any other removal proces yet to it. Should I remove every bit of the old paint , or just go over it with the acid? The outside had been spray bombed many times and was in a mess. I wire wheeled it to metal. The paint on the inside seems to be a good quality , but I want a long lasting finish that won't start pealing.
Please give our office a call at 970-252-9457 to discuss your specific project needs. Application to vertical surfaces is not a problem, but speaking with our technical department on proper application for vertical surfaces is recommended for a successful project.
So this will work for steel to be immersed as well as splash zones? How about over rust? What paint do you rec to go over the primer if it will be immersed? Thanks
What happens if I use the two part primer instead of this metal primer.. I already primed my metal deck lids with the other.. And I am just about to apply my tuff coat. I didn't realize my fiberglass bass boat had metal lids and didn't realize until now there is two different primers. My boat stays in the dry if that makes any difference.
