Thanks for this - very informative set of videos. I'm booked in for the same operation in a few weeks time - but much older than yourself and of course concerned about the outcome. It must be almost exactly a year since your surgery, are you able to give an update on your health and progress?
@pescado99
@pescado99 13 часов назад
My surgery was on 29th September, so yes, almost a year (2023 was my 'annus horribilis'). Since then, I've worked very hard on my fitness and health. I can honestly say that I'm in really good shape physically and mentally - my wife has been amazing through all this too BTW. To the pint that I rarely think about it. I kept a 'continence diary', which helped me understand and beat the inevitable incontinence. No pads after 8 weeks (although some leakage did occasionally happen after that-just a few drops...). The ED stuff is still a work in progress, but that is common to take 2 years to resolve to normal function if you have nerve sparing surgery. Yeah, cancer sucks and so does the surgery, but it's better than the alternative!

Although I have no real objection to the music in this clip, perhaps it would've been more appropriate to have the only song ever written/recorded in dedication of Australian steelworks (which is in Macedonian, and which you can hear here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PzVTbxsWGec.html).

I have been scared to death about this. I have no Prostate cancer but a very enlarged prostate that definately needs some attention. Up 6 times per night for years now. The only way I am able to deal with it is that I'm retired and have time to rest. I need to get this procedure.
@pescado99
@pescado99 4 дня назад
At least see your doctor, get a PSA and start to eliminate the possibilities. An enlarged prostate doesn't necessarily mean cancer, nor does a high PSA. But both could mean bad news. I'd suggest a PSA, which if high, should mean a referral to a urologist and an MRI next, then if they find lesions, a biopsy, which is a 100% definitive test, meaning you will know for sure. Hang in there. Knowledge is power in this case.

I'm in the same boat. My father had prostate cancer( removed at 60) and I have plenty of friends that had it in there mid 50s. I'm 60 now I work out regular and take large doses of a good quality of pumpkin seed oil which has helped with shrinking my prostate. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Did you have private health insurance? I'm about to have my surgery in Brisbane, thanks for your videos
@pescado99
@pescado99 6 дней назад
Yes, I have full private cover, some of the best cover available in Australia. I was still out of pocket $11.6k ($13.5k for surgeon, $1813 back through health cover and medicare). A friend of a good mate went to Dr John Yaxley in Brisvegas, who is very well regarded. So be prepared for the $$ sting (Medicare rebates are crap, and our insurance was too). Make sure your surgeon provides full disclosure of all costs (my surgeon is technically exceptional, but was, lets say, a little circumspect when it came to discussing costs - until the last minute). Still, there're no pockets in coffins and I've had an exceptional surgical outcome. I'm 11 months post surgery and I no long wake up thinking 'I've got cancer'. If you want to talk more, contact me via RU-vid - Click the ABOUT tab. Click the "Message" icon. Cheers and good luck and hang in there. Oh, get in as much sex as you can, it's going to be awhile...

Could be either of the two thermisters (located on heating element). Try checking their resistance (with power off). It's also useful to check power consumed when dryer cuts out. I use a plug-in power meter for problem solving. Power should be about 1100 watts on first element, and1600-1800 watts with both heating elements. Also give it a solid clean - take the back off (1/4" socket) and blow all the lint out.

I have a question. I have a Brother MFC-J5520DW and I tried cleaning the nozzles the same way you showed by plugging a tube onto the ink intake port, except I used warm water. My Cyan was the one that was the most clogged and when I pressed the syringe not much was happening, only a tiny bit of Cyan was coming out onto the paper towel, then all of the sudden all the water from the syringe started squirting out of the Yellow intake port while it was plugged into the Cyan port. I played with it a little bit then water started coming out of the Magenta and Black ports... Is that normal, or did I brake something by giving it more pressure?
@pescado99
@pescado99 15 дней назад
My goodness, I'm not sure. Depends how much pressure you applied. A syringe can generate quite a few atmospheres of pressure. There is crossover in the print head, so it's possible that's what's happened. I tend to use a push/pull mechanism to get any accreted/stuck ink out of the fine ink delivery lines. All I can offer is to clean it up, mop up any mess and try a test print. It is normal to need a few test prints to get the water or dilute ink flushed all the way through the system. Good luck!

OK, this may help for the moment the project is loaded. This also happened to me from time to time...I will keep it in mind. ;-) But I more frequently I have the problem that PD crashes during any kind of editing...it just freezes and nothing happens. This just happened again with a small project file (20 clips, in sum 1 min. duration). Do you have any idea for a workaround? This should happen with a i7 11th generation and 32GB RAM, right? ;-)
@pescado99
@pescado99 17 дней назад
Agree. I have freezes and hangups, but it's typically on larger projects, closer to 30 minutes and above, with multiple tracks. My work around is to save often. But if it locks up, leave it for 15 to 30+ minutes, then force stop it in task manager, reopen and usually it recovers the lost project. Say 80% of the time.

So good to hear you're talking about this and taking control. Stay in touch, talk to your partner often and keep plugging away at results. Kegels (pelvic floor here in Australia) are the key to regaining continence. The ED stuff takes a LOT more time. Mates who've gone down this path reckon 2 years... Whoah, my surgeon sure didn't say this!

I'd be checking the filament voltage for the VFD, you can rejuvenate the VFD with about 9 volts or so, this will make it so much brighter, you can get video out from the monitor output, on that model there's composite, S-Video and component video outputs, there might be a setting that might be turned off, the output you used for video out is supposed to go to an external DVR for recording, that unit will hold it's memory for about a week, there's a super cap (can be seen at about 6:04) that might have died or you need to have it plugged in for longer to charge it up.
@pescado99
@pescado99 Месяц назад
Thanks, I appreciate the detail. I understand video out capabilities, but the point I was making regarding video out was lack of monitor on-screen display for menus, volume changes, speaker selections, sub out, equalisation and cross over frequencies etc.
@nickfatsis9607
@nickfatsis9607 Месяц назад
@@pescado99 That's the output you're supposed to use for both viewing movies and for settings, ordinarily you should be able to watch a movie and adjust the volume and still see the movie and see the volume change graphic on screen, you should be able to make changes to all the other things by pressing "Set Menu" the monitor out connection is the only one you should be using to get picture out to your telly, whether it's S-video, composite or component, if it doesn't work there's a fault with the unit rather than being designed that way.
