This is so ignorant. Of course some kids might not react well, & maybe medication isn’t the route a family wants to take - that’s fine! There are other ways of treating/managing ADHD in kids and adults. However, at the right doses and with the right medication, these “drugs” can save lives; as many people w/ ADHD that goes undiagnosed/untreated will be more likely to be harmed or die, either through accidents caused when partaking in high-risk behaviors (stimulation, especially high stimulation situations, is a very common need/drive for those w/ ADHD, it’ll just look different from person to person) or potentially suicide, as undiagnosed/untreated ADHD commonly leads to other mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. Also, ADHD is not simply a “personality.” Those who truly have ADHD will struggle with many things in their life, & internalize it as not having the best “personality,” and/or thinking they’re lazy, stupid, etc b/c they can’t sustain focus like those around them. Or, they become so focused on something else, and not whatever it is they should be doing/listening to/etc. I can see how difficult it might be for someone without it to fully grasp what it’s like, but if you get to know someone intimately and/or try to put yourself in someone else’s shoes, and realize how there’s actual science, and millions of real people’s experiences, then maybe you wouldn’t go off saying things that are simply not true. It is already hard enough for many people with ADHD to seek help and feel good about themselves while trying to manage things they have a hard time with b/c of the disorder, and people who are not educated on the topic really shouldn’t be spreading misinformation and contributing to the established stigma around it.
Completely and utterly true since I was so young, they did nothing but put me on medication. Felt like a fucking zombie couldn’t eat was tired all the time and didn’t even talk. Can’t even concentrate on school felt like it made it so much worse.
What’s a good modern Texas country station in Texas that has an app to listen live on? I’ve got New Braunfels station but they play a lot of older Texas country
Thank you all so much for doing this show. Im from VA who loves Texas country, doesn’t hear this on local station, so I love to hear about new red dirt music!! You got a new subscriber! I’ll be tuning in each week!!
I first heard Dylan while I was waiting for the Grand Prix at COTA to start, I was doing something else with it on in the background so I didnt miss the start, then I heard this stunning vocal doing the anthem and I was like whoa, I then tracked down who that was and have been a fan ever since, the story telling in the songs is wonderful and the tone of Dylans voice is like warm treacle.
I first heard of Dylan Gossett trough a small video clip that appeared on my Instagram. It was some guy doing a cover of Gossett's song Coal. I immediately liked it and decided to look up Gossett to see if he made other songs that were great like Coal. I was really happy when I heard all of them and realized that I actually loved many of his songs. My favorites so far are "beneath Oak Tree" and "No Better Time". Can't wait to see what he will do in the future! Lot's of potential here!
