Rodney, your videos are incredible. Thanks to how you explain them and deliver the explanations in such a great way, my board game collection has improved greatly. Keep up the stellar work 👍
I have a question not dune related tho, which board game do you think is the best designed and to play? Is there a board game you think is more well designed or more fun to play then dune ? Just curious :)
This might surprise you, but I don’t offer opinions on games that way. A game I really enjoy someone else might hate and something someone else adores might not work for me. I’ve just never been interested in trying to weigh in publicly on my opinions on game designs. That said, I hope through teaching several on the channel, you can get a sense of what games appeal to your tastes!
@@muhammadlutfiarsyad5324 Subtitling is done automatically by RU-vid, and even though I’m clearly speaking English, sometimes the website translates to the wrong language. It’s unfortunate, but out of my control.
Finally I found a video that explains gameplay for this without being overwhelming & confusing! Also question: so are the Freight Pods only useful for defeating ice planets then?
Hi Jess, so glad you enjoyed the video! I would normally do my best to answer your question, but I lent my copy of the game to a friend, and I shot this long enough ago I don’t remember. If you don’t encounter any other benefit from them, then you’ve likely deduced correctly :)
Finally got around to giving Khora a shot. And, as always, I was thrilled to discover that Rodney has made a How-to-Play video for the game! Thanks, dude! You save me so much time when learning new games!
38:36 So let's say there was another hidden Merry Man in the spot, the revealed MM would be captured but the hidden one wouldn't, how does that affect the capture of Robin Hood and the base now?
Sorry, I’m traveling right now and won’t be near my copy of the game for several days. Would you mind checking Board Game Geek for that answer in the meantime?
Andromeda's Edge is amazing. Dwellings is great too, but with a better publishing company this game will be available. The more I play Andromeda's Edge, the better it gets.
How does hotness work on BGG? Chu Han has like no discussion, pictures, activity whatsoever while Andromeda's Edge has a new thread every 2-3 hours. How did Chu Han make it to Top 2? I genuinely want to know how hotness works.
I believe the BGG Hotness is based on several factors, but I've never found details on the specific measures that are used to determine it. And, I may be wrong, but I think BGG likes it to have a little mystery that way. ;) -Chaz
@@WatchItPlayed That's what i thought. I sometimes wonder how games landed in the top 3. Im not saying they dont deserve it, i just couldnt find any buzz about these games.
Dwellings of Eldevale is my favorite game of all time. I have played it solo over 500 times. I have said it many times before the one game that could take that slot is Andromedea's Edge. It's so very different from Dwellings. It's truly stands on its own. For me it will live on our table along with Dwellings for a very long time, as I journey to a galaxy, far far away...
It's awesome to hear of someone enjoying a game so many times. So many times, it seems that our hobby can become focused on continually moving on "to the next new game". I hope you enjoy Andromedea's Edge just as much, and it gets just as much time on your table top! :) -Chaz
Hi Stefan you’ll find this explained at the start of the video. Understandably, some people skip that part to get right to the games :) If you want to see our monthly list that only discusses games releasing right now, you can check out our Board Game Buyer’s Guide series.
Reminder: Each time you search your deck for a casualty to remove, you need to reshuffle your deck. This playthrough really helped. It's a tough game to learn, and the bot AI is really complicated!
Pro Tip: There's also some extra space available behind the gall bladder where you can tuck in a little more evil. But you may need to store the evil on its side. -Chaz
@WatchItPlayed That is a great tip! I'm not concerned about a little evil leakage from side storage if the sum total is still a net positive. Also, I currently have an excess of Gall, so maybe a GB reduction is in my future? Thanks again for the great board game content and evil management advice! 5 stars!
Andromeda's Edge has been hyped up with the stellar videography of Tim Chuon and the gang. His passion for the game and the light in which he has documented it can't help but boost the excitement level!
You're the best. Thanks for sharing. Hope to open my copy tomorrow. Excited to play it solo. Looks like the automa is pretty well thought out and plays like a person in a lot of ways.
Is Hegemony popping up on anyone's radar? I'm part of a few different gaming groups, but three of them are absolutely wild about it right now. I'm a big fan myself.
I really dig Hegemony, too. I think something that may be causing it to pop up recently is that the next game that its publisher has been working on, World Order, is getting ready to launch its Kickstarter campaign sometime in October or November. I'm looking forward to that one, too! -Chaz
@@WatchItPlayed Oooooo.... Got any inside scoops? Could be interesting if it was an asymmetric economy game like Hegemony but on the world scale. Each player takes a region of the world and the economy of that region.
Hard for me to know how to help as I can’t see what you’re seeing, that said, what I show in the video is correct, so hopefully if you watch you can find some clarity.
Just stopping by to check in on the snow leopards. Haven’t heard from them in a while. I’m a bit concerned about their adjustment to the finance department, since snow leopards aren’t known for working well with others.
I'll be honest, it's been a rough couple of weeks. The Marketing department works right next door to Finance. Marketing is populated by a herd of caribou. At least, it was. The Marketing department appears to have gone missing shortly after the snow leopards moved over to Finance. And the snow leopards have been no help in trying to find them; they just shrug and pick hunks of meat out of their teeth. We're considering bringing in a new Finance team made up of elk and reindeer (at the snow leopards' request). -Chaz
We love Suchy. Have not played the space ones, as I'm not usually a "space" player, but we think Praga, Shipyard, Messina, and Baby Monster Rescue rock. (That last one is so obscure, but it is the BEST for kids & kids at heart!!!!) I can't wait for Resafa--that's exciting!!! I especially like Messina because you're playing a wealthy character who's actually trying to help out his workers who are ill. ...That reminds me, Chaz, if you have not seen the game "Stephens" yet, you've got to check it out from Capstone Games. I had no idea of this man, or his story, but he was an Englishman who went to Portugal and started a glass company there. He actually advocated for and made possible housing, medical care, and education for his workers. What really strikes a cord? He did this during the mid 1700's!!!!!! .....He is still very highly regarded in Portugal today (per Chat GPS anyway) and his factory still stands, despite Napoleonic times pretty much ruining him. Nothing could truly destroy the legacy he left behind him.
