Second time listening to this and it truly blew me away again. You really live your exquisitely sad stories when writing them, don't you Mr. Leader? I wish you could read mine as, though not as lyrical as you, I'm an incurable optimist who thinks that something positive will be done to save the human family from extinction. It's called A Twist in The Tale of The Devil and it'll soon be on sale in small Dublin bookshops. Keep writing as every so often you'll come up with another gem like this.
Maybe it's just my frame of mind on the day but you sure know how to wring a tear out of this person's eye. You're a lovely, sensitive, passionate writer on a theme which is unpopular because we're heading in reality for where you take us so skillfully. Please keep going.
Like many small dots of color, viewed all together produce a masterpiece of visual art, so is this short story, well chosen verbal imagery that combines to stir in the listener a sense of appreciation. This is the third of your stories that I have enjoyed. Very glad to have found your channel.
Applause to you for this short story. It lacks graphic violence and gore, the stock and trade of so many tissue paper efforts, devoid of even a small hint of art much less imagination. In place of these common crutches used to prop up a weak narrative you give the audience fair value for turning aside to listen to what you have written. Again, applause to you.
Thanks for your comment. Interesting take, I'm not too familiar with Irish myths & legends, but The Children of Lir involves children turning into swans, if I'm not mistaken?
An unusual and original story idea ! Are you aware of the phrase : "Genius Loci "? Look it up if not. " The Imperial " could be the location of an entire story collection..? How many tragedies took place in its rooms and corridors....?.
Good story; better than a lot of similar content on YT. I like how the action takes place in a time that is ambiguous; seems to be both in the past and the future simultaneously.
Thanks for your comment - I do put a lot of effort into my stories, so it is wonderful to receive such praise. I do prefer to allow the reader/listener to imagine when the story may take place.
